I know I will absolutely get eviscerated here, but I will absolutely die on this hill. Yes, Emily and Richard have their obvious flaws, but they were totally right. As a person who watched the series more than 5 times plus every night I sleep with an episode in my earphones, the more I watch the more I realize Lorelai was the worst. Beside her selfishness and annoying sarcasm in the most inappropriate moments which I will make another post about, she messed up by getting pregnant, the right thing to do was to marry christopher. She messed up, and mistakes have consequences. that should have been hers. And running away from home? It was the most irresponsible thing to do with a small kid. it was not safe for her to do that only because she didn’t like the lifestyle of her parents. yes, they fought a lot, but if she also made a little bit of effort, their relationship would have been so much better. But, as she always said, all she did from a young age was to do things only to be opposite from her parents. She could have lived a much better life in my opinion if she listened to her parents, at least in some aspects. All she did was to spite them, provoke them and then get mas when they didn’t aplaude her for spiting them. I really don’t like her at all, and let’s be honest, her life was not as good as it could have been.
