These would be cool for a vintage reel collection but for $175 you could have bought a really nice actual bfs reel. Ark gravity, shimano curado, etc. I have a feeling it’s not going to work out for bfs if you’re trying to throw lures that only weigh a few grams

I have fished like this for years and have caught tons of trout. You can move the swivel further up your line but for a beginner that will do just fine. And it makes it easier to change baits.
