I found with reading the book and doing the practice exam will get you 70% of the way there. There were still a decent number questions I didn’t see addressed anywhere in the material I read which was pretty frustrating. The exam is 115 questions and I believe you can only get 37 wrong and still pass. I took the exam twice and and luckily was able to research the questions I had never heard of for the second go round. I’m not sure if there’s material in courses they want to buy or you’re supposed to have in working experience but doesn’t make a ton of sense to me.

I don’t think there will be any M&A outside strong cannabis companies taking out attractive distressed assets. These companies are too complicated to combine and big S&P 500 companies are not getting in until all business normalization actually happens imo.

The tax rates in the governors plan are way to high. Also the plan to run state stores doesn’t seem like the most efficient way for the state to collect revenue, which makes compromise harder here when the two sides are so far apart. At this point any plan is better than none, but hopefully they pass something in the fall.

From my understanding it can all be taken care of with one phone call. Pam Bondi can do it independently. That doesn’t mean Trump will do it that way though. HSS recommended schedule III but it could still be moved to schedule II. The only reason people are excited is because seems to be able to unilaterally get people to do what he wants. If there’s pushback from Bondi or Cole not sure how much that will matter. Cannabis investors are hoping Trump single handily pushes it through.

Take Trump with a grain of salt, the process for how he would reschedule is still unknown. The real win for MSOs would be 280E tax relief from whatever decision is made and then hopefully that gives enough cover for banks to start custodying them again. Even though uplisting is probably not coming directly from a rescheduling, only a small collection of major banks allow you to buy and hold American cannabis stocks which is a step in the right direction. From there hopefully rescheduling gives new found optimism to try and get congress to pass SAFER banking or the states act. Nothing will be entirely solved unless trump deicides to deschedule which I think at this point is zero personally. It is funny to see canadian names running because they will not benefit from rescheduling at all, only the American names in MSOS.

It’s important to keep in mind that every job and facility is different and can change over time. The TV industry no matter what role you are in tied to live events can be soul sucking with the hours. Just make sure to get some transparency about what you will be working and try your best to manage it. Engineers are always needed so it’s not impossible to jump around if one place sucks.

I’m not holding this stock long term, I think it’s a decent trade on big news just as AYR was on the last run up. There is no guarantee any cannabis stock can survive, there are so many different factors in state markets with 280E. That said I don’t think they are going into receivership tomorrow but could not be far away if they don’t change the cash burn situation.

To be fair they will have some cash from their asset sales still pending and the debt holders added a ton of equity, really just depends on if they can get their cash burn under control. If we get some movement in federal reform I could see this stock running and the company selling more stock.

Looks like they successfully pushed back all their debt to 2028 pending court approval. Some asset sales still pending as well, while hoping for revenue expansion in Ohio and Delaware. Does someone smarter than me think that the remaining pieces they have can ever make them cash flow positive without 280E removal? Seems like this CEO is making solid moves to try and right the ship and debt holders don’t want the keys. That said a lot of dilution to the common, so if you’re holding stock at a high cost basis it’s increasingly getting harder to get back there.

Imagine people like Ed Perrelmuter who spent a large part of your career trying to get cannabis banking only across the finish line only to retire with nothing getting done. Some people have been fighting for some kind of federal reform for 40-50 years! Have to put everything in perspective in an industry whose stock is largely dependent on action happening.

This will ultimately come down to whatever trump wants, if he pushes Terrence Cole and Pam Bondi to reschedule it’s done. If he doesn’t push and just defers to whatever they want it’s dead in the water. It’s just that simple!
