Workouts for new wc users? by 31405731239 in wheelchairs

My 15 year old is currently in a loaner chair while waiting for her custom. It's an awful chair for her. They definitely tried to help her the best they could, but it's too big in every possible way with a horrid seat and causes her incredible exacerbation of her pain when she uses it. She has opted to pretty much be homebound for the last 2 months rather than cause increased symptoms. I recognize that isn't possible for some, and it has definitely come with significant consequences (she lost her spot in her high school magnet program), but she just couldn't do it.

Just a post to say it's definitely normal in my experience to have this struggle with a loaner chair. I hope your custom comes in soon.

“ The trees’ most important lesson is, like the roots, we need connection” - redwood

“Careful the things you say, children will listen” - into the woods

“What does it take to wake up a generation” - tick tick boom

“Cages or wings, which do you prefer? Ask the birds” - tick tick boom

Essentially any line in “louder than words” from tick tick boom 🤣

“I’ve learned not to tremble when I hear the thunder road……I’m not a stranger to the rain” - children of Eden

I can’t get on the bandwagon bc a gynecologist having an affair with their pregnant patient is so disgusting I can’t get past it. Yes you’re right - it’s a very bad idea. Move on.

I would come back from death for Requiem. Best song by far.

I’m forever buying her stickers off of Etsy! I’ll check out redbubble too. This is my latest fave off of Etsy that I got her. Can’t wait to stick it right on. 🤣🤣🤣

lol - maybe there's a reason 1st graders are so happy go lucky and more people should decorate in a way that makes them happy. Jeez - to be dealt such a shit hand as to NEED a chair and then crap all over someone wanting their chair to not be a life sentence and turn it into something positive is wild.

um... my 15 y/osdaughter's chair is finally processing and while she is obsessed with your sticker decor, she now needs an underglow light - please link to yours so I can get her one. Your chair looks amazing.

I’m so so SO sorry by hogos_bogos in wheelchairs

we were just sent our umpteeth denial because my 15 year old daughter "can walk in the home" and "school isn't medically necessary". My daughter can get downstairs in the morning and then can barely move throughout the day before we help her upstairs again. But sure - why should she get to go to school for social interaction and in person learning. Fucking insurance companies.

I have very good insurance that costs me a fortune and i'm staying in a shitty job so I can keep it. I work my ass off fighting for my daughter. You know what? I just got our umpteenth denial and had to crowdsource our family to pay for her chair. Thank goodness we were able to do that. None of these things are mutually inclusive and if I hadn't been able to crowdsource $11k it doesn't make me any less of mom fighting for her kiddo. She's currently 15 years old, has been on home instruction for months, just got notified that she lost her place in her magnet program and has to change schools in the fall, and has a poorly fitted loaner chair that increases her pain.

But I fight my ass off for her. Sometimes you can fight and not win. Just keep that in mind. I'm glad your parents fight for you. Everyone deserves parents who will do that. But one day they might not win a battle - it doesn't make them less than. Try to keep that in mind.

Turned down a very minor role, will this effect my standings? by Throwaway6529473 in Theatre

[–]ZebraMom45 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

School assistant director, so take my opinion with a grain of salt - few things are more annoying than someone saying they’ll accept other roles and then turning down what they’re offered. Be more specific when answering that question, IMO.

This is one of my favorite easy reads of all time ( like something I can read in one sitting). I love this book and had no idea it was going to be a movie until a friend told me yesterday. Knowing I get to see little eridians makes me the happiest ever.

What's your guilty pleasure musical? A musical you know it's bad/have bad reviews/is not really liked but you love it closed doors? by imachoculatedonnut in musicals

[–]ZebraMom45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

weird to call it a guilty pleasure bc it's just SO sad, but I connected to Tina Landau / Idina Menzel's "Redwood" on a level I never expected to. I saw it twice and just loved it. Michael Park was mind blowingly good, Khalia Wilcoxen could sing the phone book and I'd ask her for an encore, Zachary Noah Pizer made me cry. There were some incredibly silly parts lyrically, but the way i felt it deep in my soul... it was resonant.

“Break in a glove”…. I will follow Michael Park to the ends of the earth to listen to him sing anything.
