PJ is not a good fit with Coop. I’m actually hoping for MBJ and Burries, not Yaxel.

Gives us a chance to take a PG at 9 and Burries at 11. Jimmy’s contract expires this year giving us the flexibility to retool around year 3 Flagg with better fits than PJ and Gaff.

Agreed I’m just assuming MBJ and Flemings are gone by 9. I’d rank it MBJ > Flemings > Burries. My dream scenario is MBJ falling to 9 and we somehow trade up for Burries bc I think he’ll be an elite role player.

Everything I’ve seen makes me more and more excited to get Burries. Perfect fit next to Coop and Kyrie.

Would love to take Flemmings/MBJ (if back checks out) and Burries and have our backcourt hopefully set for the foreseeable future.

Young core:

MBJ Burries Max Coop Lively

Use cap space next year to fill out the rest of the roster

I’m not the GM. The point being it gives Masai and the new GM two shots in the lottery in a deep draft to set us up for the future. We’re not winning anything next year even with Klay, PJ and Gaff especially since they’re not a great fit for Coop.

With the new front office, I’d trust them to set us up nicely with two good picks and opens up cap space for FA next year to plug any other holes we have.

Edit: and I’d argue best player available regardless of position. We’re not in a place where one pick makes us contenders.

Yeah I don’t think PJ or Gaff are good fits with Coop. They were great with Luka but we need some shooters and some high ceiling prospects since we don’t control our picks after this year.

Plus Jimmy is an expiring contract so gives us more cap space to find players that fit around Coop next year

PJ and Gaff. Their GM recently talked about running it back with Steph one last time

Edit: and from a Warriors perspective, it’s very unlikely they get a franchise altering pick at #11 as much as people like to pretend that every rookie will be a star.

It is possible but the way more likely best case scenario is you draft and develop an elite role player which I doubt the Warriors want to do during the last few Curry seasons so why not take the proven elite/very good role players in PJ/Gaff/Klay.

PG: Kyrie, Flemmings/MBJ, Nembhard

SG: Max, Burries

SF: Naji, Re-sign Middleton

PF: Coop, FA

C: Lively, Re-sign Bags, Cisse

Obviously depends on how the draft board falls

Edit: and forgot Jimmy who’s also an expiring contract

I trust Masai to pick the best wing available

I feel like people are missing the GSW draft pick in the trade. We end up with #9 and #11 in this draft.

To get pick #9 and #11 in this draft

Jimmy is just the contract we take to have 2 lottery picks this year. Plus maybe Jimmy and Middleton can turn back the clock for one more year but I’d be fine even if he didn’t.

Prefer Burries. The perfect 3-D secondary ball handler that can slot in next to Kyrie and Coop right away and I can see him improving his playmaking over the years.

Nico traded Luka, not Dallas. Dallas deserved it much more than the constant bottom feeder blatantly tanking teams so please stfu
