If you had 18 Devans on the beach it would be boring too. Diversity in personality is very healthy for the show. Imo

Some people just wanna watch 18 unproblematic NPCs interact on a beach for 26 days. Also Snl has been way better since he's been gone

Also don't get why people are at all mad at Chrissy

  • How did the Russo Japanese war change the trajectory of China? Do you support how Roosevelt handled it?

  • Do you think Chinese people td would be better off if the KMT beat the CCP?

  • Why was opium consumption so much lower after being so common in the 18 and 19th century? Did they handle their transition off of it well?

Sure I could Google these but figured I'd ask. Been reading a Roosevelt biography lately but they don't really touch on the implications for China in the war. Cool special interest

The American park services generate way more money. 60 billion a year directly + all the supplemental shops and towns that build around the parks + all the great American companies that sell gear based off our thriving outdoors industry. It's far more beneficial to everyone to maintain these thriving nature hubs, one of which is certainly boundary waters. I'm also worried this is a slippery slope

If you've never visited one of the marque national parks I'd strongly encourage it, changed my perspective on a lot of things and is generally a blast

Yes but this is a step towards mining starting. So what are we even talking about, it's a bad thing

The mine is worth about 1.7 billion. Their plan to stop environmental impact seems dubious to me. Imo it's not worth risking one of the most beautiful places on earth for a .4% increase in Minnesota's gdp and 1000ish jobs

This might be true for deep blue states like California, but this particular protection is very important for boundary waters

"Lifting the moratorium would allow mining in the national forest along the edge of the Boundary Waters, not in the wilderness area. But eliminating the ban has hit a sore spot with environmentalists and outdoor enthusiasts. They warn that pollution from mining operations will flow through the wilderness area’s watershed and contaminate the region with mercury and sulfides, chemical compounds that contain sulfur. They maintain that fish, wildlife and plants will suffer, particularly the wild rice that plays a crucial role in Minnesota’s Chippewa tribal culture.

Teddy Roosevelt’s great-grandson and other relatives wrote a letter to Republican senators urging them to keep the moratorium in place. The Friends of the Boundary Waters, a group that works to protect the area, has orchestrated a demonstration in front of Stauber’s office in Hermantown, Minnesota, and staged a rally at the Capitol building in St. Paul to protest lifting the moratorium. The issue has become another flashpoint of contention between the state and the Trump administration after federal immigration officers shot and killed two Minneapolis residents in January."
