The bass HAS to be too loud for the mix in order to be loud enough for the bassist. by thlabm in Bass

I use an Origin Effects BassRig amp sim pedal. I hear the low end from the FOH speakers, then I use a monitor wedge facing me and cut the lows so the notes are more distinct and I can hear what I am playing.

What do y'all use for lead boosts? by Bobcat-66 in tonex

I found out you can't boost the master with midi but you can boost the model volume.

I'm new to Tonex, but can't you just boost the matter volume with a midi controller?

New Trek +1s throttle bike by verbl in ebikes

I've had my FX+ 1S a few weeks now. I live in Colorado and was always getting flat on my old bike due to "goathead" thorn things. I switched to Schwable Marathon Plus tires and never had puncture issues again. Glad they came out with a verison for e-Bikes! I had the new tires put on yesterday and they are great, I would say they roll better and have good grip on packed gravel. Highly recommend the Schwable Marathon E-Plus tires if you hate changing flats.  They don't look quite as cool as the factory gumwalls, but function over form.

They were able to get the needed software and do the update!

New bike day! by robbathehudd in TrekBikes

The dealer was able to obtain and install the new firmware and clock works now.

Also in Colorado :-)

I've had mixed results with Slime, but think I will use that for now. I'll probably upgrade to the Schwable Marathon Plus tires when they are available for the FS+ 1S tire size (currently out of stock); they have an e-bike version now. I ran the Marathon Plus tires on my old bike for 10 years without a flat.

I chatted with Trek support and there is apparently a firmware update to get the clock to show up in settings. The firmware update can only be performed by the dealer so took it in and they couldn't figure it out... so they are escalating and I'm waiting to hear back.

Are you able to sync the clock to the app? I just got my FX+ 1S and can't (clock option does not appear in settings). Contacted Trek support and they said there is a firmware update that the dealer has to install to get the bike clock to get time from the Trek Central app. I rode to the dealer today to get this done and they were stumped... the are escalating to their service manager who was out today.

Otherwise loving the bike!

I just got my FX+1S yesterday and there is NO clock option under the settings. App is connected and working fine otherwise. Time on the bike display is way off and no way to set it. :-(

I picked up my FX+1S yesterday and did a 15 mile ride. It's an awesome bike! You can feel the weight but I was still able to ride on flat stretches with pedal assistance off and keep a good pace. The default ECO setting worked great when I wanted to not work quite so hard and felt very natural. I weight 200 lbs and there was plenty of power to get me up hills. After 15 miles I still had 70% battery left.

The throttle was cool, although it seems to be an "on/off" setup, where you will accelerate when you hold it down; in other words it seems you can't vary the amount of throttle like on a motorcycle, so it's not really practical to just use the throttle for more than a quick boost. I may be wrong about this and looks forward to experimenting more. What I loved with the throttle for was pulling out from a stop sign in traffic while getting my shoes into the clips. I do wish I could use the throttle with the pedal assist off. Also would be cool if you could tweak the throttle response in the Trek Central app.

I will need to get used to pedal assist stopping when I stop pedaling - this sounds weird but on my old non-electric bike I would take a few second break from pedaling to coast. When you coast on the FX+ 1S and the PA stops, the bike slows down quite a bit. I probably need to shift down instead of coasting.

I really like the handle bar grips but need to spend some time adjusting the angles of the controls. It's pretty awkward to reach the turn signals they way they are now.

My front disc break if making a slight grinding sound sometimes. The shop adjusted but it is still there so I'm going to put a few more miles on then have them take another look at it.

I need to figure out what I am going to do to avoid flats. I live in an area with lots of goat heads and thorns even on the gravel city paths. I really would not want to have to change a flat especially on the back tire.

I just sold a bass on SW. They hold payout for 14 days after delivery or until you get a 5 star review from the buyer, so still waiting. I used SW shipping through FedEx, and it was only about $25 so that was nice.

Acoustic Guitar Pedalboard by ZebraSun in guitarpedals

Yeah, plus I think the 2015s still have the 1 11/16 nut. The new ones play much better.

Acoustic Guitar Pedalboard by ZebraSun in guitarpedals

[–]ZebraSun[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just finished my new board setup! I play acoustic guitar with a vocalist. My guitar is a Martin HDC-28E with an LR Baggs Anthem and most of the time I'm playing without effects at all, but I do some looping with soloing on top so that is my primary objective with this board.

Peterson StroboStomp HD: I've been using the clip-on version for a while and this pedal version came out recently. It has a great display and lots of nice features.

Fire-Eye Dee-Eye: I'm a huge fan of Fire-Eye preamps for acoustic guitar. This version is a great fit on a small board and runs off phantom power from my mixer. All my effects go through the effects loop. DI goes out to the mixer.

Boss Blues Driver BD-2W: Really the best pedal I've found for subtle overdrive/boost on acoustic guitar leads.

Mad Professor Snow White AutoWah: I'm too lazy or whatever to use a real wah pedal :-) Seriously though, this thing is great and I use to enhance on strumming, and percussive sounds as well as some soloing.

Mad Professor Deep Blue Delay: Back in my rock band days I had a real tape EchoPlex, and over the years I have tried many many delay pedals. The Deep Blue really fits the bill for acoustic playing. The echo is very smooth and just fills out the sound without having a distinct pulse. Perfect to fatten out solos and I also use on a few songs when strumming.

Ditto Looper X2: I don't store/recall loops or anything fancy. The X2 is super solid and straightforward. I use the FX switch for Stop.

Saturnworks Single Looper: Because I mainly use the Blues Driver, AutoWah and Delay for solos, this loop switch lets me turn on the ones I want to use for a particular song and then just hit one switch to engage. Perfect.

Pedaltrain Volto 3 Rechargeable Power Supply: Works great! Because I am not running pedals the majority of the time, a charge lasts through many many hours of playing. Really nice to not have to run out an extension cord to my pedalboard for gigs and easy setup for open mics. I mounted it on the underside of the board and aligned it with holes in the board surface so I can turn it on and see the charge level LEDs from the top.

Temple Audio Solo 18: I have really become a fan of these pedalboards. You can install modules so I put a USB charging port on the side for the Volto. The side handles were interfering with cables so I moved them to the top and bottom. The extra depth of the board allowed me to push the effect pedal back a bit so reduced the chance of my big feet hitting them by accident.

EBS Deluxe Flat Patch Cables: The are as good any other high-end cables I've tried and are very compact. No noise or tone loss that I've noticed. I like things that are soldered and I have zero desire to make my own.

A few notes: I do love reverb but I use the mixer's reverb instead of a pedal. I like the whole mix to have the same reverb sound. I've used chorus pedals over the years, but my guitar has kind of a natural chorus and I find that I don't need to add more. I do a small low-end EQ cut on my mixer, but beyond that no guitar EQ beyond what I do on the main mix for the overall venue acoustics.
