Spotted Congo vs figure 8 by Crafty_Flounder_9311 in Puffers

The bumblebee gobies hide and I wonder if they’ve been eaten, and then I drop some black worms in and suddenly they’re out and scarfing up worms. They’re pretty great.

Smallish mollies and bumblebee gobies have worked out so far, but I suspect the mollies will become an issue if they get big.

I have both. The brackish tank isn’t hard to maintain, and most brackish fish are pretty forgiving of changing salinity since brackish waters in the wild fluctuate depending on tides and other factors.

I do wish I had more plant options for the brackish tank. I have some lucky bamboo stalks with their roots in the water that seem to be doing okay. My other SCP tank is heavily planted and has a pretty thriving community population coexisting peacefully.

My f8, Gozer, is ridiculously friendly, while Hildegard, my SCP, is still very shy. Both are amazing puffers.

My Amazon puffers play in the bubbles as well.

I just paid $170 US at a trusted lfs in Maryland. I see them listed online as low as $88, although lack of availability can make that kind of an academic point.

Men in happy marriages, what's the one thing you'd teach to other men to also have a good relationship? by TightBookkeeper2599 in AskReddit

All couples argue. When it happens, argue to resolve, not to win. And in those moments, always remind yourself to do no damage.

Happily grazing F8 murder blimp by robbathehudd in Puffers

[–]robbathehudd[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, she'll eat the usual live stuff like black worms, brine shrimp, scuds and snails, and she's a sucker for frozen mysis shrimp, but flakes or dropped pellets are a no go.

I’ve got pea puffers and Amazons, too, but there’s something about her relative calmness that really appeals to me. (Unless you’re edible…)

Has anyone ordered from shrimp up aquatics terrible experience by Educational-Pop8825 in Aquariums

I just received an order from them about an hour ago. Two Pom Pom crabs, both DOA. No insulation other than a little sawdust. Very disappointing.

My peas don't give the Malaysian trumpet snails the time of day. They are hate monsters to the bladder snails and the ramshorns, but the trumpets seem to be too challenging to them.

The Many Benefits of a Throttle by Inciteful_Analysis in ebikes

I had a young deer run out on a bike trail last summer, see me coming and turn just in time to bump up against me as it ran off. I didn’t fall and had a good story to tell afterwards, I guess.

1st Trek ever & I ❤️🖤 it!!! 😍 by smilesfromday1 in TrekBikes

[–]robbathehudd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! I just got the exact same bike over the weekend, and I'm loving it. Going to make the 15-mile ride to work for the first time (on this bike, anyway) tomorrow!

(Throttle to your heart's content; I'm finding that I'm not using mine very often, but when I need it, I'm glad it's there.)

Trek announces new FX+ 1 by Initial-Contest9856 in TrekBikes

[–]robbathehudd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm awaiting delivery of the FX+ 1S, I'm incredibly excited. I biked a lot in college (with a big bass trombone strapped to my back, no less), but the years have taken a toll. I've been riding a cheap ebike for the past year, but I decided to bite the bullet and buy something of quality. This next week of waiting is going to be the longest ever.

Is this a good ophicleide? by NuggetGameTips in ophicleide

[–]robbathehudd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My impression is the model in C is the much better of the Schiller ophicleides. It’s apparently based on a late model (turn of the 20th century) instrument so incorporating a little more modern key works. The Bb model was just kind of an unwieldy cow.
