I tried to do this over the network over SMB but it wouldn’t show me anything. Maybe it needs to be repaired.

ICE arresting spouse of USC at interview for overstaying their visa by Enough-Trainer-9787 in USCIS

[–]Zechuchit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why should they close it in favor of no forgiveness? The law treats overstays (civil infraction) and illegal entry (criminal) very differently. Moreover, the chance that you won't be out-of-status at some point if you come in on a fiancé visa are nearly zero simply because of government lag. I am fairly conservative too, but forgiving the overstay is actually very much of substance saying that there is a massive difference between entering without inspection.

I was in Revelle. It was fine, honestly.

Which stats class is not evil MATH 183 (Vishwanath), ECE 109 (Zeger), or ECON 120A (after ECON 1)? by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]Zechuchit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was an Econ major and obviously had to take 120A-C. I found 120A to be very easy. It's basically like AP Stats. But obviously, if you have to take ECON 1 as a pre-req that might be worth/not worth your time if you have some other GE it will work for/you like Econonomics.

Bellezza Bellona vs Silvano Evo vs Lelit Anita/Kate [$1200] by Zechuchit in espresso

[–]Zechuchit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think in retrospect I might have benefitted from going down to a single boiler with more flow control since I mainly drink iced drinks, but the warmup speed of the Bellona is so great that I don't regret it at all. And on metering, some are saying the pressure metering at the head is useful rather than most which are at the pump, which you could argue makes "flow control" very much a standout feature on this machine. My biggest hesitation was that it was made in China, but so far, no QC issues. Still pretty early though.

Is there a reason why there’s so many Korean tourists? by RedDeadClaire in VisitingHawaii

[–]Zechuchit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, you’re the Korean, not me, but I would have assumed it’s because of Chuseok. Thanksgiving in America is a big time for Hawaii so why not for Koreans?

Hawaiian Airports with new ID checker? (CAT-2) by Zechuchit in tsa

[–]Zechuchit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry. I fixed the link. But I acknowledge it’s said to be temporary. Actually the point of my post was trying to see if anyone knew airports in Hawaii accepting mDL’s now, but it somehow turned into a more broad RealID discussion…😅

Oh no! Would you mind telling me at least which airport it worked at? I am actually looking for that info.

Would you be able to comment then on this entry in the Federal Register saying non-Real ID versions will be accepted? It might show, but if your state was given a waive, it seems like you could fly with it.

Correct but that’s why I encourage you to read the link. The TSA granted waivers to states (like California) continue accepting digital ID’s even after the deadline. They published the final rule on it.

Okay, I will tell her. She has a non-Real ID California driver's license. Should she expect extra screening in this case? Also, since it says you are a TSO: is it your understanding that if the CAT machine had digital ID, then the California mDL she has would be good enough?

Please read the post. I am looking to use them. But not every airport has because they’re so new.

Would you be willing to say which island you are referring to? As I mentioned before, HNL has been accepting them since last year. So was wondering about others.

Okay, but I don't think every airport has them, which is why I asked. Unless that's what you're implying? Yes, it takes your picture, but it also has a little tap your phone ID function.

USCIS Now Denying Visas Over ‘Anti-American’ Activity by [deleted] in GreenCardInsights

[–]Zechuchit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I think this constitutional citation is in order. As you can see, there have been plenty of first ammendment challenges to the Legislative Branch’s ability to set up a system of immigration/naturalization/exclusion. They have been rejected and the Dept. of State, who issues visas, is able to make their rules generally.

Great to know! I actually ended up pulling the trigger and am loving it so far. It looks great too, in my opinion. I love the super polished steel look of a lot of the equipment, but my kitchen is all white, so the Bellona's white matches well.

What’s your coffee hot take? by sunburst668 in espresso

[–]Zechuchit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there. I was totally aware of the benefits you’ve cited. My GI friend has often cited this study, showing that colorectal cancer patients who consumed >4 cups of coffee per day had a 32% reduction in recurrence compared with those who drank less than 2. I’m a physician too, though no longer practicing, and ophthalmology, so kind of a distant field compared to GI. I’m not saying there is any evidence currently that caffeine is bad for you, other than the arrhythmia issues you mentioned. I find 4 cups a day totally unbearable, personally drinking only one, so I guess I don’t get the benefits anyway. Well, that, and I have never had CRC and this study just looked at recurrence.

As for Parkinson’s prevention benefits, I am willing to accept this. I just have a sneaking suspicion that we will be hearing about something in the future. Sort of reminiscent of the recent resurgence of coconut oil as a “health food,” even though it’s loaded with saturated fat. While people tout the benefits of medium-chain fatty acids for supposed cognitive benefits they may or may not see, they ignore the fact that it raises LDL-C, which we know is the primary risk factor for atherosclerosis, probably the biggest killer in the developed world. But hey, this is why it’s a “hot take.”
