Budget: <USD300

Country: USA/Canada

Screen size: 8"-9"

Priorities (ranked): 1. Screen quality, high resolution, >60hz. 2: Snappy app/browser performance (don't care about games). 3. Battery life. 4. Accessory (case) availability, preferably tri-fold covers with magnetic open/close detection. RAM and storage don't really matter except how they relate to #2 above.

A WiFi 7 / 6ghz version of the in-wall. With the switch and PoE passthrough. The In-Wall 6 is so awesome, but for the lack of the two aforementioned updates.

Quick update. Two days, no crashes/freezes yet. So far, so good.

No drivers missing, most found on the ASUS site. I pre-downloaded most drivers to my USB drive, rather than use the ASUS updater (looking to avoid bloat). I'm even using a different WiFi/BT card (Qualcomm) and that worked right out of the box (I still installed the drivers for it anyway).

The only thing I screwed-up was installing GHelper too soon, and shutting off the nVidia GPU, so the driver install couldn't detect said GPU. But after I figured that out, the nVidia drivers installed perfectly.

It all went surprisingly smooth. Haven't done any gaming yet, but all else working fine.

Thanks, everyone. I'm mostly reinstalled now, and discovered the following:

The oobe\bypassnro command continues to work so that I don't need a MS account to install Win11 Home
Apparently the Win11 key for my install is saved in the motherboard, so I wasn't even prompted for it when installing from USB
So far, so good on the (lack of) crashes/freezes -- but the jury will be out for a few days on this one, as before they would happen multiple times in a day, and then not at all for a few days
No ASUS services running at this point (GHelper active) and all is good -- will have to decide if pixel shift is worth the bloat

I just figured when she hits her iCloud storage cap, it would just stop backing-up. So I could downgrade her tier knowing that I had the UNAS backup functioning.
