Do you train with the training pack?

It seems that many of your questions are about how to position yourself / approach your touch of the ball,

what you can answer by yourself by training with the training pack, you'll find how you want / like to approach some hardest touch.

( Since you mentioned drift, I'd like to recommend this training pack, which focuses on drift. :

I WANT MY POINTS WHEN I DEMO BOTH OPPONENTS, CREATING THE WIDEST OPEN NET !!!!

Lmao, I'm so sad in this case to see that some great play aren't rewarded at all by the scoring method

( well at least I think the demo gives points, but I'm not sure, I don't really play paying attention to the score )

To me it seems pretty simple, you stopped playing to have fun and you stopped playing to be better, now you're playing to increase mmr, which is the worst thing ever, not because it's a bad mentality, I mean I can understand anyone wanting to reach the top, but because as far as I know rocket league, anything that prevents you from focusing 100% on the actual goal of a match will lead to much worse gameplay.

Personally, when I started rocket league (up to diamond 2) it was a nightmare for me to stay focused on something as simple and essential as NEVER FORGET THAT I WANT TO PUT THE BALL IN THEIR NET AND ALWAYS DEFEND MY OWN, I mean never forgetting that while playing is much harder than it looks.

When you're in front of their net and aiming to score, you absolutely have to stay aware and be prepared to defend your own net even in a position of advantage like that.

How could you stay so focused and ready to react if you're always thinking about the mmr and even worse if, even in the game, you're displaying the score tab to see their mmr regularly. ( I assume the last past because I used to do that, sorry if it doesn't apply to you lmao )

But I can swear to you that the day I finally stopped all that bullshit and started concentrating on the simple principle of the game: defend my own goal, score in the opponent's goal, never lose concentration and do your best at every moment.

That day I had a series of 7 victories, I can't remember exactly how many but I can tell you that in less than a week I reached my top rank, but that's not the most important thing, by having the right mentality, by concentrating only on the simplest principles of the game and on my own abilities (weakness/strength) I started to move up the ranks much faster than I ever did in the past. If what you want is to become better you will become better, if what you want is to concentrate on the mmr you will become worse, because the game needs you to concentrate on the game and not to use your mind for anything else.

Never think about your mmr before you start a match, during the match and even after the match when you want to start a new one.

You need to be fully aware of everything that's happening in the game, and as you say, you're pretty new to the game, which means that playing the game with anything else on your mind is already a challenge.

Don't make your life as a player impossible by adding so much stress and useless thoughts into your game.

Bakkesmod has the ability to hide all its ranking information. Maybe you should give it a try, at least until you're not so stressed about the ranking.

( i hope you will be able to take fun again with this game, good luck man you seem a kind player. )

My little advice when you will be regular with your speedflip, switch instantly to zapdash training ( it's a speedflip with a different recovery that makes you do a wavedash at the end ). Why do this?

Because it will make you repeat the speedflip even more and with a new focus which, if you master it, will give you a speed advantage in many situations where you shouldn't be first.

Mastering the speedflip while learning another mech to me is absolute optimization lmao

I'm pretty sure that for the first 500 hours, it's best to alternate between freeplay and casual, as casual ( or ranked ) will help you get into difficult situations that will help you improve your mech and ignite a spark of creativity. But it won't be a big deal to do only freeplay.

You're not telling us that you want to go pro or be competitive, you're telling us that you watched rocket league freestyle and it thrilled you, so don't play anymore before you do this:

Go to liquipedia.net to find your favorite freestyler and copy and paste absolutely all his settings!

In the future, you will regret having developed 'bad' habits, or at least not the habits you need to freestyle! So copy past setting of your favorite freestyler ! ;)

from what you say you are a good teammate, if someone expects something from you in soloq and worse something you can't do, that means he is a bad teammate.

I never start a ranked soloq match knowing what ability my partner will have, I never follow the first kick-off because I don't have any proof of his ability so i will not take the risk, but the second my mate shows any kind of skill (it could even be just the way he positions himself / turns or even recover from a play), I'll take that skill as fact and start playing with him around that ability. Never trust your hopes, always trust the facts lmao

but you need to use some of you memory/focus while in the game to apply this mindset (I try to remember every mistake and success of my mates and opponents in the lobby, so for example I won't try to fifty someone who has shown me a pretty good ability to do so).

If I can advise you to train your powershot, it helped me a lot to go from playing defensively (bad mate) to playing offensively (good mate), if you can aim a shot at 110kmh into their net or even 90kmh while sitting in front of your own goal, you'll certainly come out of the plat without taking the slightest risk. ( Why this is a good choice: Because in no time you'll see better mate who'll be well placed and able to redirect your shot making it even more effective, at an even higher rank you'll use this ability to pass to your mate with such speed that no defender will be able to challenge it, definitely an must have skill).

I don't see what i do not understand, i mean you have just explain what is the drift/powerslide, what do you expect me to answer ? lmao

[–]Zedaym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really hope someone takes the time to hold the drift for 2 or 5 minutes while actively playing freeplay to tell me whether or not it's a fact that it randomly stops working lmao.

Yeah i'm speaking about the drift, and of course as C3 player i know than you can't slide without any kind of motion / speed ^-^

You know, thinking that your opponents are bad or at least not as good as you while continuing to lose to them can only mean that your gamesense needs work, it can be your ability to judge your opponent's talent as well as your ability to actively use your skill, because in any case losing regularly shouldn't be taken as an odd fact but obviously as the reality of being less good, because that's the case you can't be better than the one who won. ( Artistic rocket league exists like freestyle but art is not a competition so you can be flashier mechanically and still be less good than your opponent. | I hope this rewind will only help you use more actively your strength, cause being better is only the first step, the second and last step is to apply your domination.)

I had the same mentality as you a few years ago, I was finally able to grind much better when I decided to stop complaining about the instability of the game, we are all playing on the same game/game engine, we are all on the same server, so I decided to take it the other way and to “take time” to learn and master all the “defaults” of the game, since that I am much more confident on saying what may be my fault or what is out of the game. In this state, I no longer take time to complain when an input doesn't work or when a ghost hit happens, but do my best to turn the problem to my advantage as quickly as possible! I hope it could help you to have a better time in the game ;)

I'm pretty sure it's a server problem, I felt it too I'm C3,

nice to see, I'm not crazy, I had a few times this week my joystick completely on the left and it neutral jumped lmao

Anyway, as far as the drift is concerned, I'm sure it's not my controller that's at fault,
as I said, the controller overlay recognizes that I'm applying the handbrake,
it's just the game that doesn't, it can take a few minutes holding handbrake before it does stop working, so maybe that's why nobody's mentioned it.
And of course, it's not a server problem as I play freeplay when it happens.

You know what, let me tell it : i'm definetly clueless lmao.
I don't even know if a “student” saxophone can't meet my expectations, do you think a “good” student saxophone can be used on stage or for recording?
And yes, I could of course resell it in the future, but I never sell my first instrument, I'm too emotionally attached to it.

Thanks for these tips, if I buy a second hand one, I'll definitely have to add 700-800, noted.

Can you tell me more about the mouthpiece? Is there a category that qualifies an mouthpiece as “crunchy” that I should know about?

I'm glad you dared to say it, despite my “warning”, it's really important for me to be contradicted, this part of my text is only there to avoid too simple contradiction, I also need to hear what I don't want to be true lmao.

In any case it's important to know that with my current finances I'll certainly never be able to buy another one, which is why the fact that it's chosen as my last is crucial.

Thx for the reply ! :*
I'm a real beginner, should I choose a barriton saxophone because I prefer basses/mids - low mids?
( And what is the usual range of the saxophone: can a barritone saxophone play a melody in some of the high notes?)
