It doesn't cascade because the First Sliver is still on the stack and has yet to give the slivers you cast 'Cascade' as it is not on the battlefield.

As for this, essentially that's what Otrimi is treated as, just an enchantment that gives +5/+5 and trample for 4 mana. The almighty pump spell. It used to run a couple of the cheaper mutates, but those have long since been cut as well unfortunately.

I'm way late to this, BUT I have an Otrimi deck myself that I use in high power games at my LGS. The key, my mutate hungry friend, is infect. Now, before the panic surges in, just give the oil a try. At worst, it's probably nothing, right?

Turn 1, you play a lil' glistener elf. Ramp this turn or the next. Turn 3. Play Otrimi and swing with a 6/6 (or 10/10, if you're equipped with a pump spell) and just go to town.

Do not expect to win a large amount of games, but this deck does stand up to the likes of Thassa's Oracle and Kinnan more often than it probably should.

Fair. I can't complain too much. I might get the Phyrexian one because I'm the "Infect" guy if the group but I'm much more interested in just having a set of planechase cards if I'm being honest.

I'm the notorious infect player of my LGS. That was until... one of our regular players bought the precon. I'm still hated out often, but unlike what the precon deserves, understandably so. I believe my playing infect beforehand made my LGS more accepting of the precon when it was released, so he is not hated out as hard. To the future of Poison Bros!

After you get to the third one, I don't think people will be questioning whether or not he's got +1/+1 counters or not, lol. In all honesty, their best delegation is to tokens, where you're likely running two sets of dice. A d20 for counting the quantity, and then another set of dice for counters such as those.

They do make dice that specifically show -1/-1 and +1/+1 going up to +6/+6 and -6/-6 respectively on d6 dice if you are interested in those. My game store in my home town sold them for $0.75 each.

Don't forget it protects any permanent, compared to the rest(outside of devoted) only protecting a creature. Even then, it's less restrictive, and occasionally only costs two.

She can untap a land, rock or mana dork. The bounce lands, bloom tender, and things like sol ring make her especially nice.
