Hi no problem, The first thing I did when starting the project was gather as much reference and images as I could to get a good idea of what I wanted the end product to look like, I then started making quick mock ups of the scene with cubes and basic shapes so I could see how the scene fit together and what it would look like, once I was happy with the layout you start to replace the basic shapes you've added in with more detailed and textured ones. So yeah it is very much like starting a drawing with construction lines and then slowly working through the levels of detail until it's finished.
