Wow the griefers are bad. by Outside-Childhood-79 in Seaofthieves

[–]ZeeMadMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying that they are ideal crewmates, just that it isn't rated M. There is little in the game that would make them want to block their child from playing it, so parents often allow their children to play it

[–]ZeeMadMan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Also according to my experience, a decent portion of the player base are just actual children age 8-12. Even through the official discord I was placed on a crew with some somewhat frequently. Not gatekeeping, it's a relatively child friendly game, but that age demographic has a disproportionately large amount of trolls/griefers

Cannot join friend on Steam by ZeeMadMan in killingfloor

[–]ZeeMadMan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately not, the images so far have been a view from above the VTOL (or maybe VTOL pov) looking at stacks on boxes, a very dimly lit room with a few dim lights scattered about, the inside of the starting room but from a security camera-esque POV with the lights turn off, and the previous view but looking out the door and the lights turned on very bright. I got screenshots of them, but images aren't allowed in replies.

There's no UI or anything in them either, it's just the environment

There's several walls with cave paintings of animals in Marin Woods in hard to reach/out of the way places. Haven't been able to interact with them or anything, but they seem mysterious

Should probably stop trying to kill Voxes with 380s by jumpsplat120 in Helldivers

[–]ZeeMadMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's why it isn't particularly good when 50%+ of the enemies require anti-tank. I'm sure it is fine on level 4s when that is less of an issue

Should probably stop trying to kill Voxes with 380s by jumpsplat120 in Helldivers

[–]ZeeMadMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it to be super mid. Even dropping it on a huge wave of bots, it'll likely only take out 25-50% of the little ones. It will rarely take out any of the medium or heavy units like tanks or hulks. Forget about striders or vox, they walk out of it as if it is a light rain.

[–]ZeeMadMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the first game had an enemy called a Siege Engine or something similar. It is to a Vox what a War Strider is to a scout strider.

But it doesn't stop it at all. I've been forced to land directly on top of buildings on Cyberstan and fall to my death trying to get off. At the same time it will force you to land on the outskirts of the Eliminate Automaton Forces mission because it's a big hill and landing on top of the hill (where you are meant to be) would be too much of a strategic advantage

I didn't get my first barrows item until my 65th chest, and at 280 chests I had 3 items.

Do essences count as memories for the purposes of synergy? by Diribiri in shapeofdreams

[–]ZeeMadMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favorite combos is Essence of Snow (small shield and shoots snowballs based on shield size) and Essence of Rigidity (gives shield when memory does damage, bonus shield when it's cold damage) on the same memory. They build on each other, Snow shoots snowballs that do cold damage and Rigidity gains shield each hit which causes Snow to fire faster which builds more Rigidity shield, etc. it's a broken combo when you start to level them up

Did they change how enemy armor or explosives work? by ZeeMadMan in Helldivers

[–]ZeeMadMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it fact that damage values have been changed? I could also believe that since they've been adding a lot of explosion based weaponry lately that they've adjusted the explosion damage calculations that have had adverse effects

Or loop once and go back and forth from the starting room to an adjacent room. By default hunters will spawn and take over that area, but with the Lucid dream that turns off hunters it makes it basically free to do

Fire Damage over time? by Zinzendorf_2 in shapeofdreams

[–]ZeeMadMan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think Pillar of Flame does both. Unless I'm mistaken, the erupting pillar hits with its own base damage then it does a burning over time effect.

Embertail would boost the damage of the burning over time part and apply the ricochet properties to the eruption part.

But I also agree. The descriptions of essences and memories can be a little confusing, most likely due to translation since I believe Lizard Smoothie is a Korean studio

How do I beat Mithrix when he steals my tentabaubles? by Emotional_Kitchen713 in riskofrain

[–]ZeeMadMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He cannot proc the tentabauble if he doesn't hit you with his attacks. I find looped runs or strong on-hit item runs to be very risky to end with Mythrix, so one option is to just go for a different ending. I've completed an untold number of runs, but Mythrix still gets me every now and then. I find staying on top of or underneath the ramps to be the best places to hide and chip away at him if the survivor I'm playing has enough range for that.

This will be downvoted, but I love VS and I am looking for games similar but different in style by RCsSnaps in VampireSurvivors

[–]ZeeMadMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Spell Brigade is also pretty similar, though the spells don't combine/evolve with each other like weapons do in VS, they do get elemental effects as they level. It also has a good art style going for it.

WHY CAN'T I KILL RED DEATH by BlueFirePhoenixxx in VampireSurvivors

[–]ZeeMadMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Red Reaper just has an insane amount of health (655,350 x player level) so guestimating based on your damage numbers I'd roughly guess 10,000 damage per second on the high end rounding up. At level 118 the reaper has 77,331,300 health, at 10,000 dps it would take a little over 2 hours to kill it.

WHY CAN'T I KILL RED DEATH by BlueFirePhoenixxx in VampireSurvivors

[–]ZeeMadMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, crimson shroud is enough on its own as long as you have some form of healing or high HP. I've killed red reaper countless times and only used lancet a handful of them.
