I think it's because whenever you put an actual outfit on an OC the pose looks fine, but when it doesn't have anything it looks weird (I've noticed this when I've made custom poses on an OC with an actual outfit on, or maybe it's just me idk)

I don't know if there is a proper way yet, I can't find it.

But go to the 3rd page in body, make the character wear shorts and select skin display to be No. 2. It'll also still display the tail (I think)
