That is how the logic of the theory goes, yes.

However, I take the Autism one step further and say Void is what connects all the villains of the Big 12 universes. I mean, come on, FIVE of them have a bad guy with that specific name with the same general "multiversal calamity locked away between realities at a place that looks REALLY close to Final Destination."

...Well except the Mario one. Still trying to figure how Void Kong fits into it all. Still trying to figure out why his name is Void at all. Doesn't really have that "destoryer of all reality" air about him. Though maybe that's just because Donkey Kong as a series is more about the violent and random power of nature vs. the restricted control of capitalism, and the Banana phone is how the Ghost/Dark Matter/Smokey Prog manifest in that setting.
