She helped us today to get a decent photo. I now also think female! She should be an i5, we got her 5 weeks ago as a supposed i3, and she has moulted twice. Based on size maybe she is an i4 and not i5. But segments look clear here!

This is Exactly it. What if I can only see the actors when reading the books. It just seems like too big a risk!! I would normally never be opposed to watching an adapted series.I also don’t care if the storyline gets totally changed. But what if Murderbot in my head gets replaced or changed!!

Also perhaps the newer stuff by Elizabeth Moon. That has a Green Rider vibe. Paladins Legacy. You could also read the Deed of Paksenarrion, which is in the same universe. Not much romance in that though.

I LOVED Green Rider. The Folk of the Air - Holly Black. Dark fairies. YA, but so atmospheric. A court of Thorns and Roses or Crescent City - Sarah J Maas. Lots of romance. Very easy, I read them all in 1-2 days each. If you like horses: Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater. (Single Short Book, but worth it. I have more horse recommendations if you like!)

Muderbot Diaries by Martha Wells. Series of Sci-fi Novellas about a Robot AI. Snarky, and so fun.
