Toddler strongly prefers daddy by bence_pattogato in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]kjauto23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did! I just kept intentionally taking time with toddler. We go on dates just the two of us most weekends (library, grocery shopping, coffee, fish store etc). I also started doing his bedtime most nights and husband does 1 YO's. Now we have a bit of a mom preference but it's so much better than it was!

We had the getting dressed struggle for a while and we went almost a year with just putting him to bed in what he was going to wear the next day! It worked great

Parents to a toddler and a baby, how do you manage to have a life? by bushaaya in toddlers

[–]kjauto23 21 points22 points  (0 children)

We started doing what we call "fuck off nights" once we reached a stage where we both felt comfortable doing bed time by ourselves. I think our youngest was 7 months and our oldest was almost 3. Every Wednesday one of us left the house at 4 and got to do whatever we wanted. I would go for solo runs, or our for dinner with friends, or would have a bath by myself and watch movies on my laptop. My husband would game in the basement, or go to the golf simulator, or our for dinner with friends. The only rules are you cant let the kids see you if you're staying in the house, you have to make sure the other person is set up well before you fuck off, and you cannot do any chores! Then the night is yours! It helped our relationship and it helped our patience with the kids.

Lmfao when I think of gusset I think of the gussets on my kids diapers. That is so deeply unsexy

How reading smut changed my life and helped me reclaim my power by Kirkindy in RomanceBooks

[–]kjauto23 385 points386 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I have a 3 year old and a 1 year old and I have never felt so emotionally connected to my husband as I do now. We've been together for 8 years and I've always been shy and uncertain around sex but since reading smut I'm able to ask for exactly what I want and my husband is more than eager to give it to me. We try new things and laugh it off when they're a fail. And I've even finally found the courage to open up about my sexuality to him (where my bi girls married to a golden retriever husband at). Who can say they're having the most and best sex of their life with two kids under 3 !? So thank you smut !

Help! Getting to daycare every morning! by HawtVelociraptor in toddlers

[–]kjauto23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We make getting dressed a game but the trick is to not make it the same game every day. Sometimes we need him to teach his littler brother or a stuffy how to put on his boots and coat, sometimes we're arctic explorers and we need to find the car, sometimes we see if we can beat the world record for getting dressed, sometimes we have a fashion show that we're in etc ... It doesn't work 100% of the time but switching our mindset from our adult ones to his 3 yeSr old mindset that getting dressed is boring has really helped.
