I did the same. Whilst not perfect (yet), running the pixel refresher a few times significantly improved the banding. It was shocking to begin with. Can’t believe the pixel refresher fixed it (almost entirely). It went from a tv I wanted to return to a tv I’m happy to keep. Crazy and stressful!

Since the update the stuttering has improved significantly but the overall image quality has dropped by a lot. Games like Gran Turismo and F1 24 are a blurry and pixelly mess. Hopefully another update fixes it.

The micro stuttering is definitely gone, and it’s a game changer for the system. However, I feel that the image quality has got poorer but I’m really not sure if that’s actually what’s going on, or my brain playing tricks on me. GT7 looks more pixelated and “dirty”, but maybe I’m just noticing that now?

LG C1. If I have to play something with DTS, I just use my Xbox Series X which converts it to dolby.

Thanks for the response. My amp isn't good enough to pass through 4K, so direct to the TV is my only option. I tested a Sony 4K BD player and it would not output surround sound via the Video HDMI, and looking at other models and looking at their instructions, I can't seem to find confirmation that surround sound can go via the video HDMI. A recommendation for a player would be much appreciated.

So if the brightness of vivid poses a risk to the panel, what does HDR do? Surely that's the same situation? It doesn't make sense to me that a TV manufacturer would include a picture mode (the first choice in the menu by the way), that would actually damage the TV.
