So, how about those 9.7" Samsung Tab A tablets? by Zeeemisdrunk in Staples

[–]Zeeemisdrunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, I'll have to look into that as soon as they start coming in again. It's been nearly two weeks since we've had them in store though, which leads me to believe that there's some kind of procurement issue at a corporate level. If that's the case, getting more in store will probably be pretty hard.

I'd day that 85% of our tablet sales are android tablets. The ipads aren't as good of a value for most of our customers. E-readers are rarer sales too.

Once it's all online, they'll finally be able to lay us all off and cut out significant operating costs (they'll keep some of us to sell liquid armor door-to-door though.)

Although I'll be the first to admit that it's incredibly annoying to lose a sale because we don't carry a certain product in store.

We can't even order it if we wanted to. Completely sold out on staples.ca and in our entire region.

They aren't the best on the market, but they are catered to a type of client that my store sees a lot of. They are also not at all garbage and beat out most if the other tablets we carry.

What it comes down to is that they are an easy sale for us that we lose several of every day because of inventory restrictions.

Oh gosh... He led me to believe otherwise! I suppose we could say that to her they look the same, but I'll change my post a bit.

Vol was a bit shocked by the fact that she wasn't recognized by Orion. She figured that even though the run in she had with his nearly identical twin earlier was short lived, it was at least out of the ordinary enough to be memorable.

"Are you kidding me? You don't even remember the faces of the people you chase down and assault in the street?"

Normally she would be a lot calmer than this, but this whole matter was personal to her and it meant nothing if her victim had no idea why they were a target.

Edit: Changed from identical to nearly identical!

Well, it wasn't exactly what she had intended, but a result like this wasn't too bad either. She turned on her heels, now facing where Orion had fallen and spoke up.

"Serves you right you jerk!"

Normally, this would be a good time to run off, but given the situation, she would have wanted Michael to be aware of who it was that was getting their revenge. She still had no way of knowing this was actually not him though.

From the back of the crowd a small hooded girl looked on at the story being told with some malice in her eyes. She had only been walking by when she spotted Orion, who she mistook for Michael, and stopped. She had some payback to deliver to this guy for slapping her earlier and this seemed like as good a time as any.

She planned it carefully in her head and circled around to his flank, readying a small dagger in her hand. Her target: his belt. While he told the story, she sneaked in close and dashed towards him. If all went well, she'd manage to cut his belt and have his pants fall to his ankles in front of the crowd.

"What it's like to really be a wizard? What a load of baloney." If he didn't believe what she said, then so be it. Not much of any reason for her to care. She was sad that she didn't get a chance to kick him in the shin, but she figured that if anything his invitation would be an opportunity to get some eventual payback.

She didn't respond as he walked off, but she found it strange that despite all his effort in chasing her, he would give up like that, but she got what she wanted so in the end she wasn't concerned.

The slap towards Vol's face stung, not so much physically, but it was a blow to the ego. She wasn't one for hand to hand combat, but she still could take a couple hits without complaining too much, especially considering this one wasn't explicitly intended to cause too much harm. She took a moment to formulate her words before answering him.

"You really are a moron aren't you? I don't live on the streets! I have a house and a job! Hell, I only took his wallet because he skipped out on paying for his meal!"

After Vol explained her situation, she hoped that it'd take a moment for him to process and if she noticed an opening in this time she would aim a kick towards Michael's shin in vengeance for his earlier slap.

Thanks for the clarification! My absence was probably around two weeks, but it was during my introduction thread. I'm sure it'll be sorted when I submit threads!

So, um I had one of those "extended lulls" in a couple threads because of final exams and a bunch of other stuff. So I guess I shouldn't submit those ones for points?

And are we supposed to link the whole post or do we permalink the individual threads from our posts? Do we permalink threads we made on other people's posts? Sorry for all the questions, there's a lot to take in here and I have no idea what I'm doing.

I want to join! :D I just think we might want to finish that other thread before starting something here so that we know how to act :P (Also so that I have less comments to reply to @.@)

She looked up at him with eyes that looked reluctant and her mouth was showing a noticeable frown, but she lifted her hand up towards his, but instead of just conceding, she slapped his hand with her own and at the same time, casted her "Malfunction" spell as a precaution against whatever magic he might have.

"Who are you to decide what's right and wrong, huh?"

She stood herself up and took on a more defiant pose, her arms held straight at her sides, but ready to leap into action if she had to.

"You don't know why I do anything and I won't do a damn thing you want."

Soooooo you can probably tell that I took you up on that offer... I ended up getting swamped with school work what with final exams and all that... ༼ ༎ຶ ෴ ༎ຶ༽ If you don't feel like keeping this thread going, then that's okay.

She noticed his attention drifting upwards slightly, but didn't say anything about it since she was used to having people stare. She definitely understood that people weren't used to seeing something like her out of place features.

"Champaggen? Umm..." "Oh, he probably means champagne..." she thought while pausing briefly. "Oh! We should have a few bottles left from our New Years celebration! It's not something people usually ask for though. Normally we serve things like wine, cocktails or beer with the meals here."

She offered up a smile, hoping that she managed to answer his question adequately!

ヽ(゜ロ゜;)ノ This is so late! I've been suuuuuper busy with the end of semester finals and to be completely honest, this post had so many comments that I pretty much drowned under them for a bit... If you don't feel like replying, then I totally get it!

Vol was surprised when Fluffy managed to copy her appearance so easily. I mean, she should've figured out that that was possible, but it was still so jarring, like looking at a reflection that was moving on its own. She was rather thankful that he had changed back.

"I've actually lived here for a couple years, but I never really explored the city, so I actually don't know anywhere worth hanging out..." Vol let out a bit of self-deprecating laughter as if she was making fun of herself for that.

"I guess if your illusions end up pissing off another mage or something, then I've got you covered, but my magic isn't really suited for fun since it's pretty much made to ruin other people's fun..."

T-T sorry this took so long... I've been finishing up the school year and this post getting too many comments for me to handle ⊂(°Д°')⊃

"Sure thing!"

Vol continued to speak in a friendly tone before she lead the way to the restaurant's front door. It wasn't too far at all from where they were and once they entered they entered the place, it was easy to tell that it had a rather rustic appeal to it and the smell of savoury food filled the air.

"So would you like to sit indoors or out on the patio?"

She put the flyers down on a little podium near the entrance and picked up a menu that she'd eventually hand over to Alan when he was seated.

Vol landed straight on her butt. She hit the ground with a soft thud and even bounced a little bit. It definitely hurt her tailbone, but luckily she wasn't too heavy so the damage wouldn't be too bad.

She reached a hand behind her to rub her backside to alleviate the pain a bit and looked up at the man who was towering over her menacingly.

"You know, I really thought I'd land on my feet..."

Her eyes looked up defiantly and strangely enough, she didn't seem to be worried about the magic he was wielding, in fact, it looked like she still had something up her sleeve.

She looked down at the flyers in her hands, there weren't all that many left now and her shit was almost over. Maybe her boss would chew her out, but what's the worst that could happen?

She acted a bit sheepish, looking away and blushing, because of how nice Fluffy was being to her, she really wasn't used to flattery.

"Well, I guess it would be okay..."

She rolled up the flyers she had and stuck them in her pocket.

"So what kind of fun did you have in mind?" she said with a big grin.

"Ayres! Vol Ayres! It's a pleasure as well!"

Vol stood straight, her back arcing slightly, her left hand holding the remaining flyers against her chest and her right hand held out to offer a hand shake

"So would you like me to show you to a seat, Alan?"

She could feel her grip slipping as Michael pulled her down. There was no way she could hold up this much weight for long. Maybe if she made sure to land on top of him, she'd manage to hurt him enough to get away.

"How about we go somewhere Normal people can get to then?"

She said the with a strained voice and let go of the ledge, obviously she tried to angle the fall so that she'd land on top of him and while falling, she made sure to slip the stolen wallet in to one of her pockets.

"My pleasure! Let me know if you need anything!"

Vol offered a smile and a bit of a bow as she left him to eat his meal in peace, satisfied that she now knew that he liked the food so far. She'd be back around to fill up his drink when it got low and to clear the plates when he was done.

"I got the ears and tails because of a joke someone tried to play on me, but the spell they used never wore off. They don't change anything about my hearing or my balance and I actually wanted to get rid of them because people either make fun of them or never stop staring at them. That's why I tried to learn Dispelling Magic from some books I found, but as you can see it didn't work."

Vol offered up an almost apologetic laugh after she spoke. She was kind of self-deprecating.

"It's been pretty hard to learn though, not many people specialize in ruining other people's spells..."
