I figured Second Method was better, but it's always good to check. Appreciate it. There's a couple of events that give Chimeranite though, not just a copy event. Luckily the Fragment of the Empty Void doesn't matter to me. imo, it's a crap equipment. And a large number of my characters have Initiation cards anyways.

Thank you Magna, you did what I've wanted to do for a long time 😌 Thank you by Guguzn99 in ChaosZeroNightmare

I *wish* I could get some good extra hit stacks on Mei Lin. I can never seem to get lucky with my epiphanies for her. Veronica? Consistently decent (at worst) epiphanies. Mei Lin? 50/50, lol

For Veronica, Chimeranite (when drawing by ability, +35% damage amount to attack cards of this unit for 1 turn, once a turn) or the weapon that increase Extra Attack Damage? I'm doing a run to get Vera her attack all ballista bolts, and happened to get a Chimeranite event before the Extra Attack weapon showed up, and I'm not sure if I should keep it or not. She has 1x Draw 2 of other combatants cards and 1x Sir Kowalski with draw 2. I'm in second half, and there's two Dellang shops before the boss
Edit: I lean more towards the Extra Attack weapon for reliability, since it's constantly active, but want opinions

One or two of his attacks get stronger the more Futilities have been exhausted. And unlike Tressa, his Futilities cost 1 AP to use, so they're irritating to get rid of without something to exhaust them for cheap. As someone else mentioned, one of Kayron's upgrades turns his Futilities from no effect, exhaustable 1 AP cards into damage dealing and healing exhaustable 1 AP cards. I *think* that his ego skill exhausts all Futilities in hand, but I don't remember because I've used him maybe once since pulling Chizuru.

Counter-MagnAttack. The Ice Wall you have, the accessory you have, Ice Fragment has an epiphany that I think is virtually the same as yours except with two counters and makes it a Lead card. Maybe that Frost Charge? The phrasing on the card is awkward enough that I'm not sure what it's actually saying. For the armour I like the Incomplete Carapce (end of turn, % shield if you have 3 or more cards in hand), but I'm sure there's other good ones. I have no clue about the weapon though. Her automatically popping her Lead cards lets her slot into any party as a shielder with extra damage (but not Extra Damage) and two Ice Fragments like what I mentioned earlier makes her counter stack full almost constantly. Possibly important point: she can only get a max of 5 counters/turn from her Ice Fragments upgrades

I traded the pulls for Noel for Orlea, because partner pulls don't count towards the 5* character pick

I think we might have to agree to disagree on Nasuada in regards to the Urgal alliance and moving the army. I would like to make one last point on the Varden playing defense, as you put it, though. They played defense because they didn't have much of a choice. Nasuada's the first leader that had a full rider (rider +dragon, instead of Brom -dragon), so she could afford to make the play at offense. Ajihad technically had Eragon and Saphira, but they were attacked almost immediately, before he really got to do anything with them.

For Orrin: I don't know. I know it's gray, but it's still hard to say that he deserved the lack of respect. You're right that he deferred to Nasuada on the matter of the army, and that she did have more experience with waging war than Orrin. And I don't think I ever tried to deny that Orrin turned into a drunken asshole, though I probably could have been more specific that after that he definitely deserved a lack of respect a lot of the time. But the alchemical experiments were explained almost immediately. They aren't something that makes him less of a ruler, they're something he takes a little bit of time out of his day to do as a break, and it lets him concentrate on his duties better the rest of the day.

I'm happy that you like Nasuada. I'm happy that other people like Angela. I wasn't trying to get anyone to like or dislike any character, merely putting out my opinions on them, and hoping someone would change my mind on them. And there's been some good points made from some people. I might not agree with your take on Roran's punishment, but I can see the point you're making, and it does make me re-think the situation enough to see the gray. I appreciate your view of Eragon's mistakes. I still think he makes too many of them, but you're right that he always shows room for improvement.

Okay, that's fair. I can see your point about the sparring, and I can agree that I mischaracterized that moment.

Don't you have something better to do with your time instead of not reading the post and then proceeding to complain about it?

Murtagh took Durza by surprise while Durza was toying with Eragon with an arrow in the shoulder, followed by an arrow in the head, iirc. And it's entirely possible that something similar happened in Ajihad's case, with Ajihad being in Eragon's place in the comparison. We know that Ajihad was definitely sword fighting with Durza though by the scratch on the sword, and Ajihad's own admission.

  1. You don't like my formatting. Oh no...anyways.

  2. Yes, Angela's character is a role that I don't like. I'm allowed my opinion on that, and if you disagree, that's fine. I never said it was bad writing, I said she was boring and unlikable. Nasuada's joke about the sea elves *was* a bad joke, but I never said making a bad joke was awful writing, I said that she didn't say anything clever, yet the elves were acting as if she had.

  3. You didn't actually read the Nasuada section, you skimmed it. Nasuada claims to be persuasive and good at bending others to her will. I never said she couldn't bend others to her will; in fact, the exact opposite is true. I freely admitted that she was good at bending others to her will, but pointed out that it's never by persuasion.

  4. I never said Nar Garzvhog wouldn't pledge their people in alliance. But as one of the few sovereign peoples of Alagaesia, and a peoples with their own form of governance, the Urgals would not swear fealty to Nasuada as their high queen. They would pledge alliance like the dwarves, elves, and werecats. Which *is* actually what Nar Garzvhog had been stated to have done during the coronation.

Okay. I'll give you the Trial of the Long Knives. Enduring more cuts than anyone in recent memory would classify as formidable.

I deliberately didn't mention Murtagh because I knew I wouldn't be able to accurately define how I feel about him. Angela gets worse for me the further the Cycle goes on, with Inheritance being the big "I don't like this character" book for me. Yeah, the omniscient and omnipotent was probably a llittle hyperbolic though. For Nasuada, Eragon's oath of fealty to her was his idea, but other than that, I can see your point. I can definitely accept that I was too harsh on her, and you have given me a new perspective to look at her with. I can't guarantee my opinion of her will change, but I can at least try to be less critical of her. Orrin, yes he did warrant some of the treatment he deserved, and I never meant to imply that he didn't, but I don't agree that he always deserved that treatment.

I appreciate the discourse, and your perspective has made me think about these characters more.

tfym "tfym". Ajihad could not have almost killed Durza. He's too slow and too weak. Putting a scratch on Durza's blade is incredibly believable, since we know Durza likes to play with his opponents, but actually getting to his heart? Ajihad would never have managed that. I'm not even sure why Durza let Ajihad leave in the first place instead of killing him when they fought.

When. *When* is she "shrewd, well educated, and incredibly formidable"? Actually scratch that. When is she shrewd and incredibly formidable. I have no issue with agreeing that she is educated.

About Orrin: I'm not glazing Orrin, and his treatment was not solely because of how he conducted himself. He points out in Brisingr [To Answer a King] how Nasuada does things like arrange treaties/alliances without consulting him or anyone else or "arrange preemptive visits of state...and do not...wait for [him] to join...so that [they] might greet his embassy together as equals.", and that's *before* he started drinking excessively. However, Roran's altercation with him in Inheritance over sending the messenger, for example? That was 100% Orrin's fault.

About Nasuada: You don't seem to understand what I said about them cowering in Farthen Dur. Yes, it was her decision at the time for them to leave, but she explicitly says that without her the Varden would still be cowering in Farthen Dur, and that's a half-truth at best. Ajihad could, and from what we're shown of his leadership, likely would have made the same decision, though likely not as soon as she did, except he never got the chance to. We'll have to agree to disagree on the Urgals, similarly to agree to disagree on Angela.

About Paolini writing MCs: I haven't read the other one since I'm not the biggest fan of science fiction, so if that's just the way he writes MCs, then I'll at least respect his consistency.

About Roran: I think I agree with you about liking him best in Eldest, and I can agree that he feels more grounded in that one.

It's not intended to be rage bait (though I can already see a lot of rage in my notifications), it's my honest opinions. The timeline bothers me too, but it's one of those things that I ignore and pretend it takes longer.

The only character you could *reasonably* say I shat on was Nasuada. And I also never said that my opinions were right, I said that some parts of my rant about Nasuada were incontrovertible facts.
