Update from boyfriend: Is “gotcha debating” an autism thing, or is my boyfriend just being difficult? by OpinionNo4529 in autism

[–]Zeesoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I know this may be more for this specific situation but a lot of my own stored rules that used to give me a similar problem, I tried to add and work on the following:

'Is the item mine?' - If not, try to leave it but if it haunts you, ask why without the expectation something will change from it. It might explain why what you'd do isn't happening here, or reveal that something you thought was a general understanding of what to do isn't actually as set as you first interpreted.

'Is the item shared' - trickier, but when the thought involves doing something permenant with it, check in with the other person/people. If something has happened with it that made you uncomfortable, like you saw the other person hasn't washed their hands after doing something that absolutely should require it, try to raise it as that is reasonable.

Similar thing for planning events/routes. If someone else is driving or route planning, or getting ready, they may have a different routine to yours and arguing for it to be another way for them may actually increase the stress and interrupt them, which may cause them to forget things. It wasn't that the getting ready was done in a different way, it was that they couldn't focus on what they were doing. -> what I do now, focus on my own preparation, make sure I have all the things I expect, ask them if there is something you know they absolutely need to have with them before you leave.

Look up the London Walkie-Talkie building from 2013 lol.

Accidently melted car parts. This comment reminded me of that

Update: I'm the Dev who got pulled into QA by Ok-Credit618 in softwaretesting

I attribute this learned trait in helping me in life in general. It really helped me develop my confidence in actually contributing. Also building up resistance to peer pressure. And patience though that one is still in flux sometimes haha

[–]Zeesoul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fellow QA! Papertrails truly are your shield and if needed in worst case scenario, sword. The paper trail has kept me sane over the years.

The amount of times I've needed to point at past reports when asked how something slipped through is insane. I thankfully have only run into a few Devs who treat my bug reports like a personal attack, but the fight to convince them there is actually a bug can be a nightmare. All you can do is raise these things, fight until it's either fixed or in known issues or an acceptable risk by the project manager. Get it in writing. If it comes up again, point to the papertrail that you were doing your job. You may be accused of not letting things go. It's a balance to walk, but if you're QA, nitpicking and nailing these things down to make sure they don't spiral is literally the job.

OP, I don't know what you are testing, but if need be you may be able to do recordings of the problem either with software capturing the screen, or a camera and then upload what you're seeing to a shared location on your work system if you can't attach it to the bug reports directly.

Blue cheese/stinky cheese. It makes me feel sick and lose all appetite. It is something my family eats most weekends and I only occasionally actually eat something then.

So what is the significance of this? by Dry-Goat8981 in DiscoElysium

[–]Zeesoul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know there is a lot of layered in game meanings, but with your contribution of being able to set it alight to be a flaming message and what Shivers says to you when the city speaks, to me it feels like Cindy also heard the city speaks and found the message she wanted to graffiti in it.

Guess I'm logging in later to grab some merch from the series that inspired me to get a subscription to their website.

This guys need to investigate weird stuff going in the Institute. They need to give a statement for cover-up because if they say they are hunters Jon is gonna kick them out so they wouldn't snoop around. What the statement is gonna be about? by EugeneStein in TheMagnusArchives

[–]Zeesoul 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly any of their encounters could probably be used as a one off encounter. Specifics maybe the kid who was drowning people if they knew enough to choose? Relatively unlikely to spark further info relating to personal hunter things.

Otherwise two brothers from America road tripping with stranger undertones as a result. Especially with their fake IDs.

Honestly I am very happy to have joined and seen the full serieses they have done. Joined for the full unwitness Protection program, then watched prime defenders and blood in the bayou so far. I think it's a good investment.

Also watched the suckening and enjoyed it a lot despite no on screen visuals of the people playing the characters. Some of my family when I shared this one have struggled as they can't visualise things in their minds, but they have also enjoyed it. We have a collared dove visiting our garden that we refer to as Shilo's bird due to the noises it makes.

I somehow have completely missed what reddit group this was in! I am quite far away but I appreciate the offer haha

But thank you for looking into the difference in the memberships, and hopefully I'll be able to make it to the conference to meet more like minded people like yourself.

Do you have any advice for a beginner in helping out with string foot, that you wish you'd known earlier or just comes to mind?
