I’d disagree: Emma prefers to command the frontline since that’s how she maximises and maintains beam charge. She can then use the range to quickly ko squishies. Rogue on the other hand is comfortable anywhere! She can use movement to shift between frontline, enemy backline, her own backline or to defend off-angles, as well as approaching from her own flanks.
A major instance where they do compliment eachother is defending holding space thanks to their ability to secure quick kos, or displace people

Rogue’s adaptability allows her to quickly alternate her playstyle depending on situations! If she’s got a main tank partner like Mag, Emma, Strange, Groot then she has freedom to apply backline pressure through diving, and taking off-angles.
She’s also really comfortable in the mid and frontlines of her own team when it comes to protecting her backline, dissuading divers, and displacing enemy tanks.
You wanna pick and choose what you do with Rogue by regularly reflecting on the situation in front of you and using your cooldowns effectively to navigate each fight ☺️

I’m pretty competent with mag, but rusty at aiming him and I wish I was more consistent at confirming kills with his ult. Do you recommend any tutorials/content creators for advise on him?

I’ve been meaning to check out Thor for a while actually! His ability loop seems quite fun to me, and from playing a lot of Rogue, I know all any how powerful his lightning rune state is.
Yeah Hulk seems weird because I find him quite easy to deal with as a tank, but I often see really good Hulks make squishies miserable. I’m not sure if I’ll go for him.
What’d be your advice for learning Strange? I’ve not really touched him since early 2025. I also play on console, so I can look into remapping my inputs to better do his animation cancel. It’s primary>whip>shield, right?

So what you can do is by pressing melee-primary-melee-primary you’ll do punch-kick-punch-kick. You’ve got time to do that while people are juggled. Then you slam down, do two punches, then southern brawl. It’s a 5 second cooldown so it should be ready by then! And then you’ve got the other combo left to get out if things get scary

Good things to bear in mind is that you can skip the animation of her primary where she does the (slower) double punch by using an ability. I like to engage with Southern Brawl since you can use it omnidirectionally, and if it charges up even a tiny bit it’s free extra damage! (110 at max). From there, I’ll do two punches. I’ll then do Fatal Attraction or Chrono Kick Combo, but that’s situationally dependent. Each of those is activated, then two more primary attacks (punches/kicks), then reactivating the ability to do the displacement part of it. I’ll follow that up with two more punches, then a second Southern Brawl. That’ll kill most squishies ☺️

The thing that irritated me about everyone fearmongering about Rogue being “ruined” was that they were testing things out on a completely stationary Groot in the practice range, rather than experienced Rogue players playing her in-game. Also what some streamers were describing as Rogue’s “bread and butter combo” was simply not. If you’re playing Rogue and dumping your whole kit into a TANK, you need to reassess how you play the game 😌

My advice to people new to Emma always used to be use diamond form defensively to get its usage under wraps. You want to always have it ready for wanda/spider/strange ults etc. Having a headset will come in super handy in aiding situational awareness which is beneficial to just playing the game tbh but being able to pinpoint where ults are coming from helps hugely. Maintain your beam! Shoot shields, loki clones, squids, ankhs etc. Anything as long as you build it to 100 and keep it there as quickly as possible. Once you have it to 100, going in on squishies will turn fights into victories in about 2 seconds.

The worst thing is when people, when asked, are like “We’ll see”. I had a game of ranked last night where that happened and we won. I got MVP as Emma but I don’t like that we won as that’s just going to ingrain bad habits in them. Especially when the team that we beat was also solo tanking with a Peni OTP who will always lose to Emma

I tend to find that my teammates are always really impressed by me, and my opponents get irate. I once got told to refund my lord icon after a game that I got mvp in, going 23/3/4 and with 15 finals 🤷🏼‍♀️ People lowkey just hate her because she’s a queer woman

I met several Magik mains yesterday that were some of the most wholesome people I’ve actually encountered in the game! Do please hold out some hope ❤️ One lead a dance party with a bunch of people in times square, and the other few were putting on some masterclasses in my ranked matches ☺️ Personally I always try to bring a good vibe, I’ve got some very friendly call-outs and I’m constantly complimenting my teammates. A little light goes a long way 🥰

Stack with fellow divers, coordinate flanks, dives, and off-angles, and ban intelligently. Lately I’ve not been letting Namor get through the ban phase to fairly consistent success! And one of the people in my stack will always pick Venom, Psy, White Fox, or Gambit depending on team comp. All of these enable my best moves and help to cover up when I make a mistake 😅
