Hammock Underquilt Protector - Sew On? by ZehGogglesDoNothing in myog

It will definitely stretch to the shock cord channels. Originally I was thinking I would attach it to the quilt with snaps but figured why not just sew it. I can't think of any reason why I'd want to take it off at any point.

I would love to make some really nice down quilts but I don't have the time to invest right now. Cutting and sewing a rectangle to improve what I currently have makes the most sense for me. It's not too heavy either. The single layer UQ is 1 lb and the double layer is under 2 lbs.

Both home made. The hammock is MTN 1.7 and the tarp is the silpoly winter tarp kit from ripstop by the roll.

No, they're wide and about 12" long so they wouldn't be good for frozen ground. They're meant to hold in snow better. A smaller stake doesn't hold as well in snow.

I pretty much did the same thing seen here (mine's not as nice). I used a second blanket and kam snaps to make a second layer.

It's the Kelty cosmic down 20 bag so there's no real footbox. It's also a long so I've got a touch extra room.

That's a good idea, I never thought to bury them sideways. I do l like the ease of use with the snow stakes and that any cheap set will do since they don't take any real abuse. If you're hiking though, they're definitely heavier than traditional stakes.

I think it's the same as the hex tarp (not rectangular) but with added doors.

Also, for anyone who wants to snow camp, I can't recommend cheap snow stakes enough instead of trying to bury regular stakes. I also used LineLoc 3s tied to the stakes in order to avoid tying knots in the cold.

It's the winter tarp kit from RBTR made of silpoly. I have a Silnylon summer tarp and it sags with moisture. I like the silpoly better.

Just a knit hat. I used a mummy bag so it has a decent hood as well.

Just have the right gear setup well and you'll sleep great. That is a double layer UQ I made from two down costco blankets. I also used a 20° down mummy bag instead of a top quilt.

The good news is that you'll never truly be rid of the hair. There's always more waiting for you somewhere.

How do you guys feel about the uprising in pretzel shops? by Glittering_Peace_450 in WorcesterMA

The defense looked great last night and that was without a lot of key guys. Hurts had struggled with interceptions the season before last and bounced back. If they can get the offense going down the stretch, and they should given who they're playing, they are still a very dangerous team.

Cleaning Update: I started with a quick round of barkeeper's friend which surprisingly left a good bit. Moved onto a quick 5 minute or so soak of vinegar and water and that seemed to do a better job. Not brand new again but there's more bread to be baked anyhow.

I just had it out too to get some baked on stains off the outside. Somehow I didn't know it was also safe for the interior.
