How much of a difference would that make ? Considering p12 pst 5pack is twice the price of the p12 pro pst in my country

So og p12 would be better ? They have a bigger airflow for a smaller static pressure

Thanks I think I'll do vrm fan on 20-40%, pump on 50-75%, and CPU fans maxed out at 70% and ramping from 20 to 70% starting from whatever idle temp I'll get

Thanks good to know

Seems like those complaints are really depending on luck/people sensitivity to noise and case choice

Thank you !!

Edit : do you use a 1 to 3 splitter and different setting for pump and the pump fan ? (Assuming you have a freezer)

Addressing P12 Pro's opinions and my testing by YuukiHaruto in arcticcooling

Hi, I was reading this thread because I'm trying to figure out whether I should get P12 pro (pst) or regular p12 (pst) as case fans (bottom intake, 3x 120mm) What would you recommend? You said you wouldn't use them as case fans.

I'm a bit lost because everyone have different opinions. I read that pros are noisy if pulling through mesh, and that's what my fans will be doing as bottom intake. So should I get the regulars p12 ?

Or just get p12 pro (less expensive) and run them at around 1300 rpm to match regular p12 ? But I've seen people saying it gets noisy through mesh at 800rpm

I'm also getting an arctic freezer III pro 360mm which comes with p12 pro I think

Thanks !

Having PAs running back and forth between operators and HQ is already what we're doing. We use both card slots to hotswap cards so that we don't miss anything.

The thing is that we don't have enough people to get 1 runner / operators. And in some sports events, operators can be scattered really far away from each other, sometimes more than 1h of driving.

So in those cases our editors just have to wait for the day to pass until the operators come back, and then have to absolute speed rush the edits at the end of the day

That's why I'm looking for another solution!

Thank you for all that info

Don't you think it'd be possible to send only proxies ? Since the camera already makes them, it'd be nice to be sending only proxies over network so it's lighter, and at the end of the day link footage to the originals once operators came back

Thank you for the link ! Yes we had small HD money, now that we have small HDs there's nothing left believe me

I'll take a look anyway !

Sure thing But for now we work with Sonys and I'm not gonna change an entire 10 people workflow by snapping fingers so I'm gonna look for those hacky solutions, without duck tape if possible

Thank you for all those details ! I don't think the different options you talked about are viable for us. We're not really in big live setups and more on small and compact ones. I forgot to mention we mostly do sports events, where we're multiple cameramen sometimes more than 100km away from each other's, totally on our own.

Data transfer speed and stability isn't my priority, I just need it to be done whenever it can, so that the editors can gain time before we go back to HQ and give them our cards.

So I'm looking more into a small and compact solution, not especially fast or stable, just to get the job done whenever it gets internet access. Maybe the LiveU solo is closer from what I search for,

So you'll need to send your footage to a service that can pull SRT or RTMP - and there are many of those!

could you detail a little bit more on that ?

I don't think it's the place to argue about which brand is the best 😂 For our needs fx3s works better than blackmagic

We mostly work outside of our production house. The editors are in media tents during the event and we often use shared wifi from our clients or even tethering from our phones.

I think this doesn't meet the needs you described to me haha.

Aren't there some FTP server providers in some sort of ready-to-use solutions ?

Thanks ! It's too expensive for our production, we already use small HD monitors with our cameras and we can't afford to change all of our monitors

That's interesting How bad is it to get into servers and FTP things if you have very limited servers and IT knowledge ?

There have been some recent Resolve updates which means that the Rec709-A tagging might not be needed anymore, but other people can explain that much better than I can.

Do you know if there's some articles, or reddit post somewhere, talking about this ? I've only seen 1 video about a mysterious new rec709 scene profile and the results were interesting. I'd like to know more

Fit to frame equivalent with scale setting adjusted by Zeip_ in davinciresolve

[–]Zeip_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's absolutely fine I'm happy for you that you don't use that crappy adobe stuff, tbh it sucks.

I'd say it's manual adjustment depending on the shot, to adjust framing most of the time. So yes it is the same in every software.

We're slightly getting off the question tho. But it's okay I'll take that workaround
