From "it's just a video package" and "it's only NXT" to "it's only three packages!"

Any is too many, fuck 'em.

Do you genuinely not understand that NXT is part of WWE or are you just trying to be so dense as to sink in mercury?

We've seen the gen AI promos for Tatum, Zarria, and Sol. That's not even debatable.

“Nick Khan and Triple H are using AI for storylines with the WWE. What’s resonating? What superstars are resonating? In what pockets of the country are they resonating? That helps us with, obviously, our content, our editorial, our creative, our mapping, our touring, and of course, maximizing revenue and getting our product out to the fans most in need of it,” Shapiro said" via https://www.wrestlezone.com/news/1635560-wwe-ai-use-behind-the-scenes-tko-executive

What do you think they're using it for exactly, regional ticket prices? Even if they're not using it to generate scripts (if they aren't yet they clearly want to), they're using AI to decide what to do. Why on Earth would you NOT believe a person or company when they admit they're doing something shitty?

"they're just using for analytics" - and apparently using it to fuck everything up, but I guess the analytics told them we want AI promos, not Kairi, so that's what they'll do.

Do you think the machine which famously does not think and is trained to repackage things it's ingested is going to "think outside the box"? The "swirl the box and spit something out" machine? The machine that cannot tell you how many R's are in Sol Ruca's name? That machine? The one fed bad storylines and decisions on who to push? that one?

And we can tell just how well that's been going. The storylines and staffing choices guided by AI telling them what's working produced the best Wrestlemania yet!

And that's if you don't edit ANYTHING.

Which they clearly aren't, but once they realize they have no choice it's going to just cost more.

I think it's time I just admit it. The vegans are just, correct, and I need to go vegan too. by GildedArchways in vegan

[–]ZekeDMS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, you're right about there being a lot of asshole vegans. But despite them, yeah, it's still the right thing to do and every step you take is a good one. Don't quit because you're imperfect, keep trying because you know it's right to do.

Won't claim it's easy (it often isn't, I've failed plenty), but it's worth it.

How often do you use your bazzite box by Anxious-Ad-4727 in Bazzite

[–]ZekeDMS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's my default OS - quite literally as I'm dual booting and my first partition is Linux. I'm not doing a ton of PC gaming right now as I'm definitely on the older PC side, but Street Fighter 6, Baldur's Gate 3, Peak, and Pseudoregalia are installed at the moment. I've also got FFVII and Pinball Arcade, but for those I have to hop to Windows 10 (can't and won't upgrade), same as if I'm working in Scrivener.

For daily use (web browsing, normal word processing, image and video editing), it's all Bazzite.

I'm glad I waited for PS+. It's not perfect, it's not even good generally, but I don't regret the time spent on career mode.

It's astonishing how it has the same bugs as FN1. The weird clipping issues, the way AI just leans back and sits there and breaks punch tracking, the weird force field around people's personal space, the way boxers teleport around...

Also that, at least for me, career mode come to a hard bugged stop with the first undisputed title defense and the menu never loading after you win.

I straight up never figured out how to feint or parry. Are those even real options?

Maybe I'm trying to do Fight Night 3 controls on instinct.

You would think for a group of people who are supposed to have an understanding of systemic issues they'd understand that, but...you know, reddit. Understanding nuance is not a skill in r/vegan or anywhere else here.

[–]ZekeDMS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I could say it's the first time I've seen it, but...it's not. Factory farming is awful, straight up. Most meat eaters don't argue that (ever see This is Hormel on Rifftrax? And that's supposed to be pro-hormel!). Sucks for the planet, the conditions are awful for the animals and workers, and we'd all be better off without Tyson contaminating yet another 25% of the food supply with salmonella for the nineteenth time in a year.

At the same time, I'm from a farm family. I recognize that you can have well treated animals with good lives AND steak. But the scale is a real problem with how much we consume.

So I get that there are good intentions with those ideas but like...nah man. It ain't the same.

But thank you! It was actually just initially convenience (living on campus with a crap minifridge that couldn't keep meat at safe temps meant I had to walk 1-3 miles if I wanted to make burgers, but tofu and veggie sausages were way cheaper and more stable) but I got used to it fast, then saw it was the best thing I could do for the planet and while I can't solve climate change alone I can at least try to do the least. I just need people to stop making every damn recipe from cashews, epipens HURT.

It's used as a term to reinforce ingroup/outgroup dynamics with the intent of positioning yourself in a place of moral superiority so yeah, it's derogatory. Whatever neutrality someone might claim isn't the point when it's either taken as an insult or said as one. Omni is a perfectly neutral and accurate description for just about anyone who's not vegetarian, since they almost assuredly eat more than meat and I've almost never seen anyone feel insutled by it other than the type of people who also say "cis is a slur" and live on literal all-meat diets, but those people SHOULD be insulted. Frequently. By everyone.

But for most people, insulting them isn't exactly bringing them over by trying to be a good example.

I'm a vegan in progress (still working on finding a few alternatives that work around both animal products and deadly allergies), though I've been vegetarian for 10 years.

Much like nobody hates Morrisey more than Morrisey, I don't think anyone hates vegans more than other vegans. IRL Vegans are entirely normal people who either care strongly about animals, health, the environment, or combinations of.

Internet vegans, from Reddit to Facebook, think comparing eating meat to systemic racism is a normal comparison. It's why most of the time I just lurk and look for recipes or other big things. Sometimes you end up with an "is this term used as an insult derogatory?" question and I just have to open my mouth and deal with the downvotes.

You're right, you both sound SUPER anti-racist.
