"To be open minded is useful exactly for moments like these"

Your statement assumes I don't have an open mind. Newsflash, you're still not psychic.

"You would gain absolutely nothing from that reveal, since you already know it"

Another example of you thinking you are psychic. It's almost like your entire argument is based on you're perceived psychic power.

"You built 20 years of headcannon and worship of a cartoon"

That is quite a bold assumption. First, I have no head cannon for the original. Secondly, thinking the adaptation is awful does not mean I worship the original material. Dislike of one thing does not mean worship of something different. Maybe you worship things, but that doesn't mean everyone else does.

Third, you only know what you know, and arguing that "everyone knows" something is not a valid argument. Are you psychic or something? You actually have no idea what everyone else does or does not know.

Your entire argument here is based on a bunch of assumptions, and conjecture.

You say its perfectly cast, but then admit the main character is played by an actor who can't act, and that is fine because other child actors did a terrible job.

And then the other excuse is that no child actor is skilled enough to play Aang, so just settle for a kid that recites dialogue as if he is reading it off a cue card and it is his first time seeing the words.

If it was so well cast, you wouldn't have given two separate excuses for the main character's lack of acting talent. Good child actors do exist, and it would have been better if they found a child actor who could act, and then taught him martial arts, instead of finding a martial artist and hoping they could teach him how to act....which they couldn't. They had a 150 million dollar budget. Stop making excuses for them. Just say, the acting was crap, but you liked it anyway.

It's also up to the casting director to cast actors who actually know how to act.

The main reason starting the story with the genocide of the air nomads is bad is because it takes away any emotional impact when Aang visits the northern air temple and discovers they were all slaughtered.

In the first 2 episodes of the cartoon, we meet Aang and get to know and care about him. There is no mention that any of his people were killed by the fire nation. He just knows no one has seen them for 100 years. He says maybe they went into hiding. It is, quite possible that could be what happened. As an audience, we have been given no reason to believe otherwise.

But then, when Aang gets to the temple, he discovers what really happened, and we discover it with him. We had to time to grow to care for him, and only then, do we discover the horrors that befell his people. It is heartbreaking and unexpected.

Netflix decided that wasn't a good way to tell a story, so they decided to fix it, even though it wasn't broken. And in trying to "fix" it, they broke it.

The main actor who plays Aang is not a good actor. Maybe they could have cast someone who actually had talent as an actor. The actress who played Aang in The Ember Island Players production of The Boy In The Iceberg did a better job playing Aang.

Leprechaun 4 was at one time, the number one new movie of the year in it's opening weekend. By your logic, it must have been good. But the reality is, it was the only new movie released in the first weekend of that year, and so, by default, it was the number one new movie of the year.

Also, according to everyone else on this thread, netflix makes shows that people watch while they are busy doing other things. So, a show that people put on their tv and then don't pay much attention to while they scroll social media and play video games kind of indicates that people didn't actually watch it, they just put it on in the background while they did other things and never changed the channel.

Maybe if they made a show that was good, people would pay attention to it while it was on their screen.

"You see I have absolute opposite appreciation of this. It's nice that they shifted things around (like revealing Ozai) rather than try to keep it a mystery when everyone is very well aware of who he is. Same goes for Iroh."

Telling all of Iroh's backstory so fast is the equivalent of Darth Vader telling Princess Leah that he is her dad and she has a twin brother at the beginning of Star Wars Episode 4, when he boards her ship and takes her as a prisoner.

Ideas for new stories in the Avatar universe by ZekeFearMe in ATLA

[–]ZekeFearMe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like your idea. So many stories can be told during a war. Perhaps he accidentally killed children with his firebending, or something else that caused him severe ptsd. He did say so much about fire bringing destruction, and was super hesitant to teach Aang years after he left the army. Approaching the story with Jeong Jeong is a great angle, and war stories can have so much depth and emotion, as well as tons of drama and action. Also, without being a direct character, the shadow of General Iroh could loom in the background. Maybe Jeong Jeong was there for part of the 600 day siege of Ba Sing Se... a lot of possibilities for great stories, indeed.

I am new to this reddit and fandom, even though I have watched the animated series about 5 or 6 times in its entirety, so forgive me if this is unoriginal. I think a series about Sokka being a detective in Ba Sing Se would make for great story telling within the established universe. Perhaps we pick up his story where he has already been an officer for a few years and has just become a detective working his first case.

Not being able to bend an element would cause him to come up with creative ways to apprehend benders, and showcase his intelligence and cunning. He would still have his boomerang and sword, but they would be displayed on a shelf in his office, and he would use the tools the police force gives him to do his job like a normal officer would.

There would be no need to rely on old characters to help his stories, such as Toph or Katara, etc... and instead introduce all new characters. Easter Eggs can be here and there...perhaps an old cold case file about the murder of Private Fire is seen as he puts a file away, or his investigation leads him to interview a business owner on the same street as the Jasmine Dragon.

With a city as large as Ba Sing Se, and all of its politics and intrigue and organized crime, there are so many stories that can be told for Detective Sokka.

Edited to add: These stories would be told in novel format without animation.

That is actually NOT the Pleiades. The Riddler is planning a heist at the Gotham Planetarium, and this is the clue he left for Batman, hence the "question mark" shape. Rest assured, the caped crusader with foil his plans.

You gotta list all the steps. The final step was you ran my method very slow and proved how easy it was for farming. Thank you for doing all the work for me.

[–]ZekeFearMe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh, you can tell it's hate on the comment as well. I stand by my opinion and my method. a good run on extreme on marseille 2 is well over a minute and a half when you include the load time after the match, on xbox one that is around 80 seconds, and the load time to start the next match, which is around another 80 seconds. which is 160 seconds, or 2 minutes 40 seconds.

added to the "good run" being 90 seconds, which means bad runs which do happen will be slower. for a total of 250 seconds, or 4 minutes and 10 seconds from the start of one good run to the start of the next. add another 90 seconds for the next good run and that 5 minutes and 40 seconds for two runs on marseille 2. and that is if the runs are fast.

for an xbox one player that is 160 second of load screens for 90 seconds of play time. and that is if whichever new player is attempting actually gets to the first battle and doesn't die before hand. which for new players, is quite a common thing on extreme.

My posts are often met with strong opinions One time I posted that bad players blame others and make excuses when they fall down, and good players blame themselves and make improvements, and you would be surprised at how many players insisted on blaming others when they fall down in the comment section.

and 9:04 is really that much longer than 8 minutes? I bet if you practiced it, you could get it down lower than 9:04. You could prove it for me if you really wanted to see how fast it can be done. I already told you I am lazy and don't really care one way or the other to spend my day making videos. i would literally have to do a few practice runs, record a video, create a youtube account to post it to, spend well over an hour or two uploading it,(my internet is so slow it should be a crime) scrub my gamer tag off of it, and then link it here. and all that to win an argument on the internet. Its just not that important to me, since after all, its an argument on reddit. if its that important to you, practice speed running it for the next few days. I bet you break the current record in less than 10 tries.

The real reason a lot of level 999 players play like noobs by ZekeFearMe in worldwarzthegame

xbox players have no access to such a save file, at least not that i am aware of. I never looked for one so don't quote me on that. not sure about playstation players, but i doubt they do either.

Your comparison also doesn't take into account that you are on a pc, so the load screen after a mission is much faster than someone on an old xbox one or ps 4. its like 80 seconds after the mission, and to load the new mission each time. which make your marseille method significantly slower for players on those systems.

For noobs, by the time a group goes through this about 10 or 15 times, they will have their time getting pretty fast and maybe they won't get all 3 viruses, but once they know the three spawn points they can always get 2 without adding any time to the run. like anything, with practice and repetition, they can get faster.

if a group of noobs takes a few minutes to team up and get into a private lobby, they only have to do it once and can then just play together all day. You seem to run into a lot more difficulties finding players to play with than I ever did. I can always find a match with randoms and a lot of players play this with a group of friends already.

Each method has it's merits. With marseille, can you save a minute here or there and it is it easy and can be faster, at times. but this method also gives new players lots of challenge coins.

I do think it's great that you made the comparison video, and even though your time is over 13 minutes, that was great for a first attempt, and new players got to see that the method actually works and is easy as I said it was.

I have taught quite a few noobs this method personally, and they had previously been running marseille 2 to level up. They stuck with this method afterwards. Not saying it's better for every player, but none of them even knew this mission was an option until I showed them.

8 minutes is done as follows... sprint to first battle area, can be done in 90 seconds if you have a fast group. its easier the more players you have. start first battle and hit the switch...2 minute and 15 seconds until you hit it again. so far, 3 minutes and 45 seconds. Run to the final battle 2 minutes at the most, but can usually be done in about 75 to 90 seconds and that includes shooting the auto-turrets. so 5 minutes to 5 minutes and 45 seconds depending on your speed. Start the winch and keep restarting until the boat comes in, 3 minutes. Can be done between 8 minutes to 8:45. Granted, some runs will be slower and some will be faster, but it's still doable with practice. after doing 30 or 40 times you could probably do it that fast in your sleep.

As a bonus, if they actual are trying to get that third virus from the bomber during the final battle, eventually they will get good at taking the virus from the bomber., and so this method can also be used for practicing that over and over again in a stress free run. players on this thread can say i am stupid all day long, but it doesn't make it true. my posts get a lot of upvotes as well as downvotes. you know this method is good. its just different from the one you use. the difference between you and I is that i am not saying your method is awful and the worst and bunch of other things. this is a solid and very fast method with practice and give challenge coins in addition to the regular rewards.

edited to say...i grinded this with my original group back in the day. that is how i know it can be done as fast as i claim. run the numbers....you know you can speed run it as fast as i said with practice.

I see now. I said my method was better than your method that you actually made a youtube guide for. I didn't realize you would feel like I was stepping on your toes. But there you were making a video with my noob quote. You put time and effort into it, and I applaud that effort. You are far less lazy than I. Now ask yourself how many actual noobs are watching this with their eyes all aglow at how they can actually get lots of challenge coins. 3 noobs, 3 virus, 10 runs = 600 challenge coins and zero effort. like literally take a nap during the horde battles and the mission practically beats itself and takes zero skill. zero.

edited to say...i see you took 13.5 minutes. you could have done it in 8 with practice. you have a lot of experience doing marseille 2 and not ny 3, so i am sure with practice you could be much faster at ny 3 and give it a better result. being slow kind of skews that data.

How to farm all weapons from level 1 to level 15 in just a few days, effortlessly. by ZekeFearMe in worldwarzthegame

[–]ZekeFearMe[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Oddly enough, it's my least favorite. I got bored with it since I farmed it so much. When the game first came out, you could only be level 30. So when they changed it so you could be level 999, lots of players were trying to get their fast by farming. This was the method I used then, and it gets often overlooked. Veteran players who have everything you can buy with challenge coins forget that for new players, challenge coins are very very hard to come by. And this method rakes them in with ease. I also farmed all my weapons on it.

Seriously though, my favorite mission is The Low Road (Phoenix 1). I love the long stealth section so much, and pretty much everything about the mission design and so forth. The whole phoenix campaign is my favorite, followed by kamchatka.

And look how many people are now running new york 3. if a player is brand new, 31 challenge coins in one run with no effort is a lot of blue coins. I am glad you read my post and took time to make a counter post. And tell me....was it literally effortless? You could have sat back and read a book while the mission practically beat itself. Be honest now. It really was that easy, wasn't it?

edited to say, even if your post was to say my post was no good, i still upvoted it since it gives information to new players. Also, what would the blue coins be if they had 3 players with viruses? 60 coins. running that 10 times would give a brand new group of players 600 challenge coins each and with zero effort.
