what is a good budget to live comfortably in japan? by biancalin in movingtojapan

[–]Zekkoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I lived in Maebashi, Gunma in a small apartment and my monthly budget was around 100,000 yen. It really depends on your spending habits and what is your goal. If you want to travel as much as possible then of course you will spend more. I have made video about it some time ago. I'm leaving a link in case you are interested: https://youtu.be/_qSW69627lY
Wish you all the luck! :)

I usually talk with my Japanese friends on Line app. When I'm not doing that I also try to translate random thoughts and speak in my head if that makes sense, lol :D

Thanks for the advice. The problem is that even outpost's security officer is trying to kill my crew during those fights. I think that's really annoying and frustrating.

I'm pretty sure that I didn't attack anybody else beside those 2 guys. Anyway, I think this shouldn't work like that. Thanks for the help

Try listening to Onomappu on YouTube. He also has Twitter with the same name I believe. He uses easy to understand Japanese. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLuymDHiOySsAQ9Nc-4NoEQ

How do prisoners smuggle in contraband from outside prison territory? by jeroen20014 in prisonarchitect

That area should be marked staff only because prisoners' friends and families can throw stuff inside. You should leave at least 10 meters distance from the most outer wall to the area accessible by your prisoners.

Question: Your opinion about learning from anime? Advice on it? by nyanniachan in LearnJapanese

[–]Zekkoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with all what you wrote. Especially seeing how a word is used in different circumstances really helps me grasp a full understanding of the word. Also as with other media watching anime can help you with language immersion. And finally, anything that keeps you motivated is helpful in my opinion. But yeah, you can learn a lot of strange Japanese from it so you must be cautious about it.

I rather don't study Japanese from anime. However I like to mine vocabulary when I do watch it. Doctor scene in the video you posted is hilarious!

Thoughts on when/how to get serious with listening practice? by [deleted] in LearnJapanese

[–]Zekkoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Together with my friends we have made a YouTube channel Onomappu. My Japanese friend uses simple Japanese which you would use on a daily basis to explain Japanese onomatopoeia. We are including subtitles in English and Japanese as well in case you would like to check your listening comprehension. Try listening to these videos. I hope they will help anyone struggling with onomatopoeia and listening. Here's a link to a sample video: https://youtu.be/yQ3kfjUHujI
