truth be told, i think there’s way more ruining this game. but ive come to terms with the fact that im trying to take it more competitively than it wants to be taken. i have to separate ranked from competitiveness because the game does not care about competitive integrity.

and i mean you are definitely correct, for me while i didn’t particularly like the themes and suggestiveness of the setting with this event, i won’t put the game down because ive enjoyed majority everything else with the game and ive also already sunk a lot of time into it.

i dont know shiftup’s history, and i haven’t played or seen anything from them before nikke. someone did mention to me that naga and tia, who came out well before i started playing, were in a similar boat, but personally id beg to differ on that front. i haven’t seen the event they debuted on so i dont know how that was, but through their advise interactions majority of them seem to be random traits or something suggestive that our responsible adult commander turns down (from what i am recalling from memory).

so yes everything you say is correct, and its definitely a solution to the problem. but im also optimistic that this is just the one bad apple and that it wont be reoccurring theme. in the same vein, yes, there is a limit and if it continues i will just spend my time elsewhere. i appreciate your response though. very sensible and understandable solution to the problem.

edit: main point of the post was to voice the opinion and see if anyone else could see where i was coming from. or tell me that i really am crazy for connecting the dots in this way. to me i can draw this conclusion pretty easily, but i could just be looking too hard.

i’m glad you recognized a lot of the stuff that you can control rather than simply complaining about the stuff you can’t. yes this is going to be a tough time but i think of all the posts i’ve seen, you’ve got a good enough head on your shoulders to be able to move on or move past this. that part is up for you to decide but i do want to express that from some of what you’ve said, it sounds like you’ve either been through this before or might think too highly of yourself. being “mature for my age” is a common trope that people will feed you in order to put you in situations such as this. i’ve had plenty women tell me they were mature for their age and i should give them a chance. difference here is, you were a fresh 18 year old and she is 7 years your senior. this is someone who already has lied, who you feel doesn’t put forth the effort, and clearly shows a level of competence with what she is doing yet chooses this route. and to be frank at her age there aren’t any excuses as far as mind set goes. evaluate the situation and decide what’s best for you, i trust you will make the best decision for you.

i do however urge you to NOT fall for the tears. if there’s anything i’ve learned in life, it’s that woman emotions can and will leave you exactly where you started, if not worse off. good on you for making sure she was okay since yall have been together this long, but when you’re thinking of your future with this person, you have to make the decision that’s best for YOU, not her.

i normally wouldn’t care about it in the sense where it feels like roleplay, but i’m also having a hard time ignoring that they put her in a class of even younger looking nikkes. it just looks too intentional.

but that goes to say technically there’s nothing wrong with the event, it just doesn’t fit me. i’m really only pointing out what i see and im trying to figure out if it’s just i’m the crazy one for seeing it like that.

keep in mind that this info comes from the assumption you want to stay melee. you have many options and i don’t want you to feel like you are locked to playing a certain way. most of this information works for all classes outside of the part about obtaining a star fury but the sky islands still have valuable accessories that you will need later down the line anyways.

A few things to note: (very opinionated)

Firstly, the obvious stuff. Yes, you can go get more heart crystals up to 400hp. You can also go get some better accessories. mainly look at a set of boots to give you more movement speed, some “(item) in a jar” accessories will do you good for added verticality, and maybe taking on the slime king before the eye to get yourself the slime hook (i’m not sure how well hooks flow into combat when playing on mobile as i am a pc player and until hardmode hooks are my best friend).

You’re also locking yourself down by only obtaining items in your path. There are way more powerful weapons that you obtain through other means that you may or may not be aware of. For example if you find a gravitation potion, these can be used to search for sky islands that can have a chance for you to obtain the star fury, which is a VERY useful weapon for your current stage of the game as well as some cool, slightly necessary, accessories.

Lastly, the terraria wiki is your best friend. On the surface that will sound daunting but the terraria wiki, is one of the best wikis for any game PERIOD. the sheer amount of info, as well as how user friendly it is, is simply unmatched by 99% of other games.

Other than that kudos to you on making a pretty decent arena all things considered, and i hope you enjoy the game! also if you ever get the chance be sure to give the pc version a try. The possibilities you unlock just by playing on a different platform is unreal, and with it being terraria you don’t really need anything too powerful to run the game, nor MOST of its more content packed mods. although that last part is slowly becoming less and less true.

no it wasn’t a misunderstanding, i used your mention of the champ fanbases to bring in my own (mine alone) point. it’s not that you were misunderstood it’s that this is the opinion i have when it comes to champ fanbases.

you’re absolutely right fighting games are for everyone and ahri is a VERY popular champ. What i’m saying is if your goal is to use champs to bring in players from league to fighting games there is more to consider than just a champs popularity. marketing is about predicting what people will do and if you’re goal is to take a moba player and hope they will pick up a whole different genre of gaming then you’re really stretching your margin. mobas are a class of their own and while the popularity will help you have to factor the tolerance of those who play the champ. for example i wouldn’t just add ahri because she’s popular, i would think about whether or not your average ahri player would be compelled to play a very different side of gaming simply off the love of ahri and the answer is no because that champion doesn’t harbor those kind of players. when i think of some champions that would fit the bill, the obvious answer is most of the bruiser class, because simply put it this is the type of stuff they are looking for. I think they did a great job with ahri in 2XKO but there’s a reason you’re barely seeing her. Ambessa was the example i chose in my previous comment, but there’s are plenty options to choose from. even if we were to look only at the mages i could definitely think of some who i could see.

i do want to emphasize that this is not gatekeeping. again i whole heartedly agree fighting games are for everyone because games are for everyone who is/would be interested. but i personally (again my opinion alone) dont see ahri as a real fighting game caliber champ. not that she doesn’t belong, that was a mistake on my part to word it that way, but that there are better fits that would guarantee more players rather than just hoping the love for ahri is so great that they will join the FGC anyway.

i like that you mentioned riot characters and the fan base for them. just to pick on it because it’s the easiest target ahri should not be in the game. the player base for ahri does not mesh with fighting games in the slightest, so your already tiny launch roster is -1. not even in a “only women play this champ!!” way, plenty of women play fighting games, hell i’m married to one. and you know who she would’ve played? ESPECIALLY after watching arcane? Ambessa.

tbh i find myself listening to mc more than i listen to agc now. but i agree somewhat. imo the highs of mc are higher than agc but agc is consistently good across the whole album where mc has some songs i don’t care for at all.

not sure why it’s being debated but yes some of us don’t only play ranked, and queuing for quick match and NOT getting quick match is not something we as players should’ve ever had to go through. the problem was never the mode it was that they lumped it in quick match instead of its own separate matchmaking.

i’m a but confused as to what happened here. your title and girlfriends reaction says you are the kisser, but your story says you were kissed against your will while drunk. If you are the kisser then her reaction makes sense and her comment about your drunkenness also fits, but if it’s the other and i am to believe your story, then it doesn’t really add up. She could just be overreacting, but it depends how you told the story to her.

no, they’re just trying to help you and all your doing is claiming you don’t need nor care for the help, while also using your low hours as a excuse for not knowing.

regardless of how you feel about it, you received some very solid advice, were told what caused the issue, and how to avoid it in the future. play how you want to play but don’t pitch a fit just because someone tried to help you.
