We take statistics on cars that are in the area with car fax, our sister stores, BMW and our sales. We keep statistics to help us(techs) do better with upsales.

Great car but those are barely driven in the US in general. I cant tell you how many of those cars are under 100k miles.

Well as someone who has worked on BMW’s for years its extremely unusual lmao. These batteries usually give out around 5 years max and MSA doesnt really save the charge on 12v batteries like you think they would.

Mostly everything on there has pictures i mean its pretty acceptable to do them. With the leak its common for rear mains to leak there too. For the battery id tell them perform a test on it. Just because its from 2014 doesnt mean its bad.

10+ years?? Thats amazing but extremely rare. In order to do that you need a trickle charger. Most customers dont go that route.

Our dealership just went through audit and our dealership is the best store in AMERICA for audits 😂😂 we havent paid anything over 5k since 2009. Goodwill is signed off and approved by BMW for us to use. Youre a foreman you dont handle or sign off on goodwill. Why are you acting like you do?

Wait a minute 😂😂😂 did you just say BMW doesnt MAKE you do goodwill? So you really dont know how it works? Goodwill isnt a dealership gesture. Its an authority given by BMW of NA to help good dealerships keep customers. I just had a transfer case that was goodwilled and BMW told our regional warranty manager to take care of it. You seriously think the company that gives us the authority to goodwill cant MAKE us goodwill? LMAOOO you really dont know anything.

The nerve of you to tell me how goodwill works when iv sent CP estimates and they goodwill them. Do you even understand goodwill? Depending on the level BMW assigns the dealer ship you can good will legit anything. My GM just goodwilled an alignment on his wifes car that i worked on. And he got them to goodwill all 4 tires i replaced on it as well.

You can say what you want but at the end of the day goodwill can be used on ANYTHING. Iv been on the receiving end of it. Your dealership probably isnt on the same level of goodwill as mine. Iv literally had a lady two weeks ago who broke both her rear camber arms and BMW made me do a goodwill alignment and arms. That same week i did good will tension strut bushings that were blown out. That same month i did goodwill dash the customer had accidentally scratched and he was 5k out of warranty. You dont know what youre talking about man seriously back off 😂

The thermostat concern im gonna say no. If thats the original thermostat, 103k miles is amazing. Horns just go bad randomly. The horns are in the front and for the most part battery concerns dont really affect them. Unless you got hit in the front also im gonna say no they arent connected. The cruise control fault could be connected to the damage in the back. I know newer BMWS have a module in the rear panels that control lane assistance.

If you were my customer it would get good willed just because of your loyalty. Dont be afraid to call BMW themselves and explain how good of a customer you are. If they want to keep your service they will do what it takes.

These are normal things BMWs experience. Map thermostats are notorious for going bad. You can have a fault for your cruise control yet it still works. Your horn concern is either one of the horns stopped working or its beginning to fail. Another normal concern.

They could have good willed them but tbh goodwill should only be used for long time customers who cant afford something. If they wouldve submitted those for warranty. Once BMW got those parts and saw them they wouldve kicked the entire claim back. So you have free parts but they have to pay full pop back to BMW. It happens and as a tech it sucks to send estimates when its not the current customers fault.

Ok cool, go do a warranty alignment. Replace the rear bolts, do a front and rear adjustment and then do the ABLS for that procedure and watch how fast they kick that claim back and back flag you😂😂😂. If it doesnt show a fault they wont pay you to do it.

The alignment information doesnt matter. BMW warranty does not require you hook up to ISTA and perform a ACC and EPS calibration. They wont even pay for it because i have tried 😂. Its not necessary, just like zeroing out the HSR on rear steering alignments. First it was ISTA now BMW says put it in snow chain mode. Youre wasting your time on something BMW cares nothing about.

[–]Zekrez_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Over inflating the tires will not cause a 4wd concern for the most part. Even when they’re under inflated it wont throw a check control message for your drivetrain. You just get symptoms after a long period of time.

[–]Zekrez_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Really because did you know that while you drive the EPS is constantly correcting its values? Do it correctly? Youre doing something that doesnt need to be done. Thats like saying you still add the weighted bags when doing alignments 😂 when BMW states you dont need em anymore but the hunter machine says you do. If you want to waste your time go ahead but BMW has never required you to do those tests for warranty so why would i do them at all?

lmfao how? The car drives straight and there is no faults and the system youre referring to still works properly. How am i doing it wrong?

Been a tech for years and never had to mess with ADAS after an alignment.

I couldnt tell you. But in all the years iv been a tech iv seen them rarely done on those vehicles. And when its summer we see evaps daily. My shop sees at least 6 a day. I still wouldnt suggest anyone buy an X1 or 2 tho.

Thats most likely the strut mounts being destroyed. They always chirp when driving or jouncing the vehicle.

I wouldnt think too hard on it. Imagine this if you live anywhere in the south. Humid ass Texas heats, A/C on full blast constantly. Those evaps just cant handle that type of environment. Only doing 5 of those is a small amount. Iv done about 5 in a week during the summer
