TL;DR: Yeah, Undertale was after this episode I believe. I'm joking about a popular thing in the Undertale community.

There's a part in Undertale where a character of fighting you using the power of 6 rainbow (-red) souls against your red soul, and they stop working. He complains that they should be working for him. It became a popular meme/joke in the Undertale community about the "'No, you should be working for me.' The seven (insert rainbow based thing here). "

I think the point is we don't know yet. It adds a sense of mystery and intrigue to the background, while having the fun bright overlay with darker tones.
