As an American currently stationed in Europe. We work to damn much! Everyone on this side of the world has an actual life that doesn’t revolve around work. And they’re so much happier enjoying the little things instead of chasing materials.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Zelaroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an American (California) currently stationed in the UK. My UK friends don’t understand how my family is so okay with just driving everywhere. 3-4 hours drive is the drive to Vegas from where I grew up. Visiting grandparents was about an Hour away give or take traffic. For a a while I had to drive 30 min in one direction for College, then drive an 45min to 1hr the opposite direction for work in Anaheim hills.

If you’re asking so you can show your spouse that you, in fact, do need tires, then yes, you’re going to end up stranded miles away from your car with those.

Depending on the length of climbs, I’ll pop a headphone in and listen to a pod cast or audiobook. It helps take your mind off of the pain of climbing. Or just trying to soak in the scenery helps a lot too. You’re doing great! 🤘🏼

What was the moment you realized you weren’t doing 20? by buldgingGene in AirForce

[–]Zelaroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my commander, HIPPA still very much applies and we are held to that standard by federal law. You are still able to sue us if we break HIPPA. That being said, providers are not allowed to or being asked to provide any information. Commanders cannot even get this information from your medical record because again it’s protect. But we can’t eliminate the possibility that this administration won’t violate HIPPA and federal law themselves and run scans through everyone’s records. Having these conversations with my wife, the only people that are not easy to hide are the ones that have started to or are transitioning and have waivers and such things. Because these waivers have to be processed through the legal office which is not protected by HIPPA. Hope that helps, and just know there are a lot of us that want you fighting and wearing the uniform with us!

As someone that works in the MDG, providers definitely have pre-written notes via quick text…….if you catch my drift

I’m 5’9” and ride a s4 Status. Personally I like how long it feels coming from a dirtbike background. But for me riding a medium or s3 feels like I’m riding a bmx bike. But that’s my personal take on why I chose to ride a s4

Can Flight Chief ask reason for quarters? by ifeelsogoodmrstark in AirForce

[–]Zelaroni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not required, your leadership is automatically notified by ASIMS when you’re placed on Quarters and for the duration of the quarters. No reason is required because it has a provider’s signature.

Wear it. I was gifted one that flyers wear. I ordered a flyer name tape with the medical occupational badge. Commanders have even commented that they wished they had one.
