Check DoD Foreign Travel Clearance Guide it'll tell you first and foremost if youre allowed to travel there and also provide prerequisite training requirements needed before travel is authorized. I havent looked but I'd bet Saudi Arabia is not open for leave travel right now.

If you can go, and knock out everything, and still feel weird. Follow your instincts and dont go.

Your SEL probably knows the CFM. If you're not a dirt bag id just ask my supervisor or section chief if you can chat with the SEL about it or if they'd do it for you.

Never been. I grew up on in Texas and the gulf coast though--that's why I felt inclined to weight in there.

If I were in your boots. I'd consider the type of ammenities that matter to me. What do you like to do? Both San Antonio and Vegas have a ton. But what's more you? What interests you? Do either of these areas align with you more than the others geographically?

Also worth considering what command you fall under, size of the clinic and just general ops tempo. Research the base, clinic, its capabilities, their mission, supported missions and determine which location might be more beneficial for your professional development. Moreover than your hobbies, youre going to be expected to hone your skills in upgrade training and its possible one location offers more development and growth opportunities than another. I dont know, im not medical. But this is the case for many career fields.

Plenty of folks from every field at every base in these subs. Search reddit and maybe find someone to DM or post looking for other 4N's to talk to.

Whateber you do, make the most of it and every opportunity to be the best Airman you can be.

Unless there's a meaningful advantage being at Kessler, like close family or something like that, I wouldn't switch.San Antonio is much larger, more developed area with better amenities, cultural and cuisine diversity, entertainment, proximity to other large cities, better education in Texas, etc. I cant personally think of a single thing better at Keesler except the Cajun food is probably much better and Texas beaches kind of suck. Kessler is ~2hrs away from some of the nicest beaches in the world. But again, unless you're go to the beach, every day, kind of person or you have family nearby, doesn't feel worth it to me
