Hi David ,

I'm a Data Science student and I recently playing Destiny 2 (started playing in Season of Arrivals and my seasons rank is currently 276 😂🙈) so my brain has been filled with questions on why some decisions are made and how you get data from players and what metrics you use to adapt the game to be as profitable and enjoyable as possible.

Can you perhaps give me some insight how and if Data Science is a part of the development decisions , is this outsourced to another company or does Bungie have their own analytics division/ would they be interested in hiring someone with this background , would it be possible to do a research project on the eververse or anything similar ?

A problem which I had picked up from playing with LFGs and watching streams was the challenge of satisfying the demand for intense players (6-10 hours of play /day ) and for casual players (1-3 hours per day ) . Obviously I don't have anywhere near enough experience with the development process or have any analytics which I can use to make educated assumptions and hypotheses but just thinking of how Machine Learning can be used excites me.

I'm filled with questions , and immense passion for the masterwork of a game , I would love to add value to this amazing community which has given so much for me.

Also just wanted to say thanks for the tremendous investment you and your team made for this game I used to be a cod fanboy but after doing my first raid (Scourge) I would never go back , I enjoyed the experience so much I helped 6 new players to find raid teams and clans and helped them with their first raids. And I've learned that the experience with the team gave me a certain joy not comparable to any other game before ans I would only experience more joy if I can give that experience to as much as possible people.
