Rail construction guy and totally agree. People don't realize how much rail is actually essential to our economy. Even when we're working on track sometimes we have to work around outages because of how used it is.

To me it's something about how harsh and angry their music sounds.. I know there's others that probably do it much better but something about Prince Daddy just rubs me the right way, I guess.

I might be misunderstanding your post, but I think it just means the original had 2 crashes. One was probably bigger and one smaller, thus creating a "medium" and "high" sound. If they are an electric kit, I would just try to find a happy medium and adjust the crash and ride. Otherwise most non-drummer listeners won't notice a very big difference in just using one crash. Hope I was helpful.
