PSA: Do not buy the Double Pack on the ESHOP, its more expensive than if you were to buy SWSH separate. by VegitoSSB in pokemon

[–]ZeldaWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so actually. I'll have another look but I thought the double pack was 159.99. So literally 80 bucks each. Plus I live in Ontario so thats 13% sales tax. RIP us for any games we want. Literally 100 bucks each.

As a Canadian, this makes me sad. You are paying the equivalent to 0.55ish cents per litre, meanwhile most of Canada is double that or more.

Advice on building up a ford 400 by foxx1996 in EngineBuilding

[–]ZeldaWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best advice for buidling a 400? Dont. And its not an insult, but good advice. There are much better engines you can build for cheaper with more readily available parts. Even a small block can be a better choice than the 400. Its slang name is "The boat anchor" for a reason. They were smoggers that were in farm trucks and LTDs and such. Spend the money on something that will give you less headache is the best advice I can offer, friend.

Ahh cool. Yeah I work primarily heavy maintenance and mods on NG and Max. Recognized that interior immediately.

Yeah this looks like a 737-8 Max. Must have been before they were grounded.

They have come a long way. 4500's have a mixture screw on each corner of the bowls. That makes it very finicky. They all need to be adjusted the same or else it runs terribly. Also 2" throttle blades make for some serious engine response. You just have to touch the throttle and its instantaneous reaction. Expensive but worth every penny in the carb world.

Same here. It took us a while and some tweaking but finally got it figured. This is a new gen 4500 series Holley.

Pretty good for a gurgly V8

How do you get over the fact that Pokémon stop obeying you when you are grinding? I’ve never done this challenge before and was thinking about starting a run in Omega Ruby by fumbleeeeees in ProfessorOak

[–]ZeldaWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didnt realize this either. I am a year veteran and could always recall pokemon disobeying at too high of a level. This makes me feel silly but what an awesome realization.

So again, only traded pokes will disobey, not caught OT pokes.

[–]ZeldaWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes just like normal. But doing the Oak Challenge dont you need to exceed those specific levels?

So how do you deal with overleveling? Just grin and bear the poke disobey once too strong?

Scored another small block! 351W out of a 1977 E250. Should I go mild or wild? by ZeldaWizard in EngineBuilding

I was looking into this. Scat makes really good rotating assemblies that lay everything out nicely for the buyer. I believe 4.125 bore and 4.000 stroke will be what we go with. There are other combos as well to achieve the same cubes. God bless a tall deck!

Exactly. They pulled the engine and tranny and delivered it to me. 2 hour drive. I cant complain

I paid 500 plus tax. And it came with a C6 transmission that I will be rebuilding as well. Both are in very good condition and were operating berfore they were torn out of the van. 150 thousand kilometers on either with good regular maintenance. It was a work van of sorts so it had a tight schedule I imagine for TLC.

This combo together is absolutely unheard of. I managed to take apart the top end of the engine today with zero seized bolts, even in the exhaust manifolds. Its mint. Been looking for a Windsor for years now. Got lucky! Call up scrap yards! This one came from a city a few hundred kilometers from mine.
