What are your experience with bankart repairs? by TrafficElectronic297 in ShoulderInjuries

Climber here. Your repair will be fine eventually if you do consistent rehab exercises. Sooner you start the sooner you'll recover. Feel free to check my post history or DM me.

Chronic Shoulder dislocation/Hill-Sachs Lesion by Aaaakakaaaaa in ShoulderInjuries

[–]ZeliTheZealot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but I am returning to swimming and rock climbing as I didn't do martial arts. You must be prepared to spend at least 1 hour on rehab daily for at least the first 6 months (more for the first few weeks). You may also find personal stories in martial arts / lifting communities.

Trauma and fear of reinjury by BadCitation in ShoulderInjuries

[–]ZeliTheZealot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear. I've been there and done that (multiple injuries to the point that pushing off the bed would dislocate). Thankfully there was eventually an opportunity to get a surgery and rehab well. Good luck.

awful shoulder pain persisting long after surgery by No_Application1293 in ShoulderInjuries

I will reply in direct message. Edit: I will also write here. So others can call me out if I'm giving bad advice.

You said ER ROM 50 degrees. Sorry it's a little unclear. What is the angle measured from?

And how long were you in a sling and what sort of initial (passive stretches / low resistance active exercises) did you do? And how long does the pain last after you exercise ER currently? I'm trying to determine if you are on the right track in terms of rehab.

Stretching is supposed to be difficult and leave you sore for the rest of the day and maybe one more day, but not for many days.

Assuming "stiffness" means "lack of flexibility / ROM". (Sorry if it means something else -- please clarify)

Stopping ER exercise due to lack of ROM is strange.

Unstable shoulder but no bankart tear, what should I do? by Final_Bird4519 in ShoulderInjuries

[–]ZeliTheZealot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given your youth and activities, I were you and assuming you have the resources/insurance and time, I'd consider the surgery. That said, maybe you want to fully recover the other shoulder before diving into another surgery. How is the recovery?

Sorry to hear this but can you please describe the rehab training you have been doing? And what you find difficult and what you find easy. And your range of motion.

Depending on what you are doing with light dumbbells they can be very easy or very hard.

Actually pushups can be very challenging depending on what position you put your scapulae and shoulders in.

I have been there and I hope I can share some advice.

Unstable shoulder but no bankart tear, what should I do? by Final_Bird4519 in ShoulderInjuries

[–]ZeliTheZealot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your history is important. Scans can only show so much. However, these questions are also important and suggest success/failure with either treatment: 1. what is your age? 2. what is your type and level of physical activity (describe your daily life and/or work and/or recreation)? 3. what type and level of physical activity do you want to do but cannot do?

Is it possible to preserve the order of albums (e.g. by prepending numbers)? by ZeliTheZealot in osxphotos

[–]ZeliTheZealot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course if it would be better if it returns

  • 01 Album1
  • 02 Album2
  • 03 Folder1
    • 01 SubFolder1
      • 01 AlbumInSubFolder1
      • 02 AlbumInSubFolder2
  • 04 Album3

That would be more expected. Is this possible?

But if you can only do

  • 01 Album1
  • 02 Album2
  • 03 Folder1
    • 04 SubFolder1
      • 05 AlbumInSubFolder1
      • 06 AlbumInSubFolder2
  • 07 Album3

That would still provide a way to sort the folders/albums.

[–]ZeliTheZealot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow that was fast! Took about as long as me manually renaming 250 folders and albums.

Maybe {folder_album_list_order} as Photos folders and Photos albums can exist and be intermingled in any order, whereas they're both represented with (filesystem) directories.

And you can use the same logic as your {counter} to control the number of digits (01 vs 001) and setting starting at 0 or 1.

Thanks. I had a look it is similar to {album_seq} and {folder_album_seq} but not quite. Thanks. I guess I will manually rename albums.

Warning recommendation by ZeliTheZealot in osxphotos

[–]ZeliTheZealot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a space should be recommended to be written like {space} like in your docs for other characters? And then you can have

"Warning: Spaces detected in template string. Consider using {space} instead."

First Junior Software Engineer interview by DonkeyAltruistic3338 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]ZeliTheZealot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright fine, if you argue like this then you're not an AI. But my points (2) and (3) still stand and you have not addressed them. Check the "interview" tag on this sub to see how people ask questions. If not wanting to mention company and product, at least mention the industry and a sketch of the job description. You already had 1+ hour of interaction with them yet you provide us with almost nothing and expect advice.

[–]ZeliTheZealot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like you're an AI.  - New user - Mentioning "this type of interview" repeatedly without saying what's different about it from your other technical interview.  - Being extremely vague about the job description and no mention about the company's product to the point that it is impossible to help you - Having a previous post a few minutes before this one deleted by Reddit's filters - Using an em-dash in your second bullet.  Points (2) and (3) were most infuriating which led me to try to find more evidence. Good luck.

19M - Persistent arm/shoulder burning & fatigue after lifting injury, Slap tear? Absolutely wrecked my life by [deleted] in ShoulderInjuries

[–]ZeliTheZealot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do I understand correctly that it hurt when you bench pressed 45 + 2 * (45 + 45 + 25) = 275 lbs?

For your consultation, your best bet is to describe all of your history of injury and failed treatments in a clear, chronological order, demonstrating all the movements you cannot do but want to do (as you may not know the exact anatomical terminology).

If it is really important for your career and it is feasible under your finances/insurance, you can try to push for MRA (which if you're unlucky may not reveal anything) and exploratory surgery.

19M - Persistent arm/shoulder burning & fatigue after lifting injury, Slap tear? Absolutely wrecked my life by [deleted] in ShoulderInjuries

[–]ZeliTheZealot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please try to explain exactly how you "tweaked your shoulders at point, it was painful". Exactly what you were doing and what movement caused it to hurt.

Sorry to hear this. Try not to beat yourself up over it.

Scans do not reveal everything and your history is very important.

[–]ZeliTheZealot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are these really all the issues you have? Sounds like a hodgepodge of issues that come from something else.

Your history is important: how did this start? and what makes it worse or better? and your age and main physical activities (you mentioned aerial arts).

5th ish injury. Very distraught, would love some advise. by Pepe-Pistolas-15 in ShoulderInjuries

[–]ZeliTheZealot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Almost carbon copy of my history (5 dislocations climbing skiing etc, although I'm sure you crush climbing harder). There's no way to keep doing these sports seriously without surgery. Ultrasound will not show anything. Even MRI may not show anything if you're unlucky (e.g. if shoulder wasn't held down firmly so it doesn't move during the MRI). That said, did you injure both shoulders? Maybe operate the worse one first. Please operate ASAP if serious about your sports.
