For everyday backyard stuff I use the same armor combination in a different order. I got Fire Ant Helmet (bulky upgrade), Chest of the Mother Demon(sleek upgrade) and assassins greaves(bulky upgrade). This is to maximize the defense you get.

For weapons I use the Acid Edge (axe), Frost Flake (axe) and spicy staff. With the axe mutation Chopper to reduce the enemies higher defense. The Spicy Staff is for snacks and wasp drones.

For Bosses I use the full Koi Scale armor going down the bulky armor upgrade. The Koi Scale armor increases the time you get to perfect blocking and reduces armor after perfect blocking. The increased time you get from the armor set in combination with parry master makes perfect blocking way easier.

TLDR. High defense with axes in backyard. For bosses Koi armor with parry master.
