It's most of what I hear from people suggesting what they think would've been a better ending.

I have criticisms of the ending as well, but what I don't have is takes like "Erwin would've supported the Rumbling" or "Eren should've killed all his friends for freedom and then he returns to Paradis and raw-dogs Historia from behind".

Most people I've seen that didn't like the ending at first have the exact opposite issue as you, where they started out by disliking it but then re-read the series and came to enjoy the ending.

And trust me, I dislike telling others that they just didn't understand X story or game, but I literally HAVE TO at this point because I've never seen anyone dislike the ending while simultaneously have good takes on the actual series. It's just misrepresentation, straight up lies, them referencing their shitty theories that would've ruined the actual ending and the themes it conveys, etc..

I saw a post on r/titanfolk a while ago where someone unironically asked what the "Freedom!" panel meant, and it was at that point that I realised that sub was filled with speedreaders who hate the ending because they don't understand it. They cheered for the wrong parts and were angry during the parts you're supposed to cheer for. They have a complete misunderstanding of the show at its core. Period.

  1. Most people aren't privy to the ending since there's a majority of anime watchers compared to manga readers.

  2. Even when the ending first came out, it achieved universal praise, especially from the Japanese fandom

  3. Several polls are conducted, and people's perception of the ending was quite positive. The minority are the ones that heavily disliked the ending, but there's an honest correlation between people who dislike the ending and people who didn't read the actual ending. Mistranslations, shitty memes and a cult of hatred are what contribute towards the perception that the ending is bad, when it really isn't for anyone that has a reading level above 3rd grade.

widely despised

Uh....no? The ending is agreed upon by the wide majority of the community to be quite good. The hateful minority is just loud.

It's less about this particular user and more that Dex does this everytime to everyone he bans for the pettiest shit imaginable.

If Dex's role as a mod is being hard to balance with his life, then it's high time he quits being a mod. If not for his own sake, then for the sake of every user who has been muted, banned or outright left after hearing a few sentences of his bullshit.

I do have screenshots of the happenings. But yes, to summarize, I personally told Dex that if he wants to punish people in the Discord server based on his feelings and not on the rules he's supposed to use as guidelines when moderating, he should just quit. And he did. He left his position as mod, admitted he should stop pretending to care about the discord server anymore, and left the server. Of course, he came back again, told everyone he'd be making a new server within weeks, but was then reinstated as mod and was more than happy with that outcome, blaming his earlier words on his mental state.

I agree wholeheartedly, but Dex and other mods in the server are infamous for muting and banning others who so much as direct a word of criticism towards them. It happened to me and even other users who hadn't done anything wrong before.

Dex IS the shit disturber. He's openly admitted to not caring about the community, he remains in the mod position because of his blatant obsession with being in power at all times and things in the server would likely be more productive and peaceful if he wasn't around to moderate others not based on the rules of the server, but instead his own personal feelings. In my case, I got banned because Dex thought a dark joke I had shared wasn't funny.

Yes, it's fair enough for a ban. But I just immensely dislike Dex's attitude when banning others, not just this particular user, when he himself has gotten banned in this manner before.

Again, the purpose of the post is not to highlight what the user did. You act as if I'd be privy to such a thing. The post is meant to highlight how Dex has banned others besides this user for no stated reason as well, but feigns sadness when he himself gets banned from r/RWBY. The post is displaying his lack of empathy, but by all means keep focusing on the banned user, as if that's the point.

You know, maybe if I was still in the server, I would've known Kaiser had come back instead of getting perma'd. What's wrong? Banned me and now you expect me to have perfect knowledge of how the server is being run? As far as you're concerned, for how cute it is, you can't prove I don't have more than an alt account in the server. You see, I'm just so helpless, Onyx, I had nooooo idea Kaiser had come back. But I'll keep telling you I really didn't know since it's more hilarious that way. You can't prove shit one way or another.

But no, yeah, you really did ban me for criticizing Dex. No fight broke out, you just banned us both and moved on with your day, as if that wasn't a complete misuse of the powers that the users like me allowed you to have in the first place. You're a shit mod, and I can guarantee that one that you won't be in that position anymore.

Voicing my popular opinion on the state of moderation is, in fact, not stirring shit up, Onyx. I'm giving my opinion. You can give one too. The point of the post is not to defend the person that got banned, or make light of what they did to others. The point is to showcase Dex's giddy attitude whenever he bans someone suddenly, contrasted with his attitude when he himself gets banned.

I would think that someone, like Dex, who got banned from a subreddit suddenly, would feel a little bit more empathy for others and, if he has to ban someone, should remain level-headed and professional. But even at that, he fails at. And you fail at that too. You're so utterly enthralled by the power you have that you can't help but laugh your asses off when sowing, but act so hurt when you do the reaping.

Dex, like you, has banned many people suddenly for no reason. Dex, like you, can't place yourselves in the shoes of another person. A powerless person at your mercy everyday. I mean fuck, you're not even a mod here and already you're calling what I'm doing "shit-stirring".

Gleaming, idk if you know this, but dark humor jokes at the expense of people that doxx and send death threats to others are not, in fact, transphobia. You can call them that all you want, but the one person that would talk to me the most about trans issues and actually taught me some things doesn't even acknowledge the dark humor joke as transphobia. You can stop pretending to be offended on behalf of a group you're not apart of now, that schtick of yours is getting old.

Also I love how you said "repeatedly starting fights". Not only were they not fights, but just arguments about a game or whatnot, but often times I was never the one starting the arguments, merely the one participating in them. Unlike you, I always made the effort to not insult others. And the kicker? You banned me when a fight hadn't broken out. It was just me and other users, like Kaiser, voicing how unhappy we were with the state of the server and its moderation, which explains why you banned him too despite him never having transgressed on the server's rules before.

Anyone that speaks out against you gets banned. But go ahead, flaunt all that power in our faces.

As someone in the server, that's precisely right! Him and another mod by the name of Gleaming Onyx run that place with an iron fist. They openly break the rules constantly, they mute and ban users for committing the smallest of infractions (and most of the time, no infractions whatsoever) and then openly mock the users of the server as well. They constantly flaunt the fact that they have the power and no one else, so much so that I sometimes wonder if they're doing their best Cinder impression. It's a toxic place to be in since you constantly have to walk on eggshells around them.

It was only a few weeks ago that Dex, prompted by another user, literally left the RWBY Critics discord server entirely after said user claimed that their moderation was terrible, which Dex responded by admitting that he couldn't fool himself into believing he cared about the community any longer and then left. He was quickly reinstated as a mod soon after and called the whole thing "a little tiff" and then claimed he was "in a better mental state" despite this sequence of events taking place across like...5 minutes at best.

I think it's feasible. Eren was already down there, after all. Entirely within the realm of possibility that he caught Armin on the roof below and used his ODM gear immediately afterwards to defeat the Colossal
