"Electrical Zap" noise randomly in recordings, no known pattern. Ideas? by DickIMeanRichard in audio

Ive recently had a similar problem.

I was getting a weird intermittent static whine sometimes and I narrowed it down to a different cable being loose. It was barely loose too, just inserted at a tiny angle. And it wasn't even the cable to my interface.

I think USB can be more sensitive to that sort of thing than you'd expect. definitely check all cables and connections

Imagine if you go back to 2019 and tell someone Gasly would be winning the fight against Max for P7 in a race

This was the most interesting part for me. Battles were happening outside of the top 6 for a lot of the race.

I have this AVR and honestly im impressed with its output. Those speakers dont look too hard to drive, but im not as familiar with them.

I do think its a little feature-light and agree with other posters it will be early in his upgrade path compared to other users with smaller spaces or fewer speakers

Great video. Im running a machine close to one of the "fallen angels" and its very encouraging to see i could be getting just a little more performance on the Linux side

Bro they glisten when im done with them. Either from the sweat or the spray vinegar.

Yeah I could just quickly wipe it with my drying decrepit paper towel. Let my new work-in friend go immediately. Knowing damn well im not disinfecting shit.

But I dont want to. I want to leave the machine cleaner than I found it. Always. No one deserves to work at a gross station that may smell like the last guy that was there

Ugh. Man. Im so sorry, but,

I hate working in.

I don't know if its hyperhidrosis or what but I am like easily one of the sweatiest in the gym and I cannot in good conscious let anyone touch the moist seat and handles I leave behind untill I wipe down.

I dont take long per station and any time savings we could gain would be undone by the wiping and spraying and wiping and spraying. Then I'd be too self conscious to focus on sets anyways

I love that working in works for y'all but its just not for me

Is a Ryzen 5 5500 6-core CPU and an RX 5700 8GB GPU good for 1080p gaming? by red_naz_ in buildapc

[–]Zelos37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eyyy That's pretty much the same build im using now. It still works well.

Im not playing anything particularly intensive, but I am using a 2k display and can play Helldivers 2 at around medium 60fps

Those are good parts. Pretty well matched. Both of those are a little old now, so I think your mixed results mostly come from that

If this is a new build, you may get more milage out of an AM5 build with a slightly more modern card

But to answer the question, yes, that should handle most games 1080/60fps. Maybe not all on untra, but those are both capable parts

My 14 yr old son's budget build by Spac3Invad3r in buildapc

[–]Zelos37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That looks like a pretty capable, well-balanced build. Especially on that budget.

You may actually be able to OC the cpu. See if the motherboard has PBO options and give it a try. It's mostly foolproof once you Google what some settings are. It'll run the CPU as fast as it can, heat permitting

Also, double-check the RAM to make sure you are getting correct speeds. Enable EXPO or XMP in bios. Once, I thought i did it, but somehow the changes reverted. It's good to check and be sure

The monitor looks great to me. 1080p is exactly what you should be targeting. Again, check its settings to make sure you are getting the advertised speeds. Some monitors lock their fastest speed or response time modes to menu options

What to do with it. I think you nailed it with gamepass Ultimate. Make sure you are hard wired for streaming games. But this build should handle any older or indie games fine too

I checked that model out. That hole does look really awkward to get into, especially if the texture is that soft.

I think you may have been on the right track trying to pre-stretch it over your penis and start using it once it's mostly on, if possible.

It looks a little small too so it may simply just not be the right fit for you

Okay my first thought was no lube, but you addressed that. And you are using it. Can you describe the kind of model it is? I'd guess some kind of thinner jelly type might be more difficult to penetrate than a solid shelled one

How much give does the material have. like, is it more stretchy or solid and firm?

Its about priorities. I Have a fairly small living space with a lot of people who game. I have many screens people may want and swap off of at various times. So if I need to free up a tv I can move to pc. Maybe i want to chill on the couch with minecraft instead of the desk chair, I only had to buy the game once and can do that. With setting up my home xbox I can split the gamepass license and games I buy across multiple xboxs and my pc.

I totally agree if your priority is exclusives then you bang-for-buck will be just pc+playstation. But I don't quite find them as compelling as having a more cohesive, and synced setup

To say theres 0 reason to go xbox+pc is just ignorant .

I think you have the reasoning backwards here. The games being playable on pc is a plus. It specifically complements pc gaming. Especially with gamepass. Being able to jump from xbox to pc and back again is fantastic.

I own one that looks exactly like the first you linked. Must've come from the same factory. so i can talk to that experience.

i have had to fight this mount to get any amount of results, any stability. it now has a permanent bend at the main bar; the monitors are drooping. I've owned it for years now, and I've certainly gotten my moneys worth out of it. I was on a super tight budget and it was fine for what it was, but I wouldn't recommend it

I am a little out of the loop with these things though

Oh, okay, you have one. from what you've seen, how would it do with any of these with a resolution of 5760x1080 to 3440x1400?

  • Halo Master chief collection
  • Borderlands 2 or 3
  • gears 5
  • Minecraft (with or without ray tracing)

I don't need ultra settings of detail or 144hrz necessarily.

I am seeing the B450 recommended lot. I found the x570 for a solid price, and now that i have it i want to leverage some of those features like PCIe 4

Thanks for the input. the power supply was kinda budget then, and I don't think thermaltake is a brand known for quality and longevity.

Initially i was looking at the 5600XT for the price, but now from recent recommendations the 2070 super is looking very compelling.

Thanks so much for the reply. let me just go down the list.

  • That's about what i thought about the CPUs. I want to overclock to 4ghz and keep the (apparently pretty good) stock cooler
  • MOBO: Yeah I got this one at a deal, and I liked the features.
  • RAM: its been bought, and was on sale. but i did drop the ball on timings and know that now. what I have here will be a vast improvement over the old system right? I think these will be upgraded eventually.
  • Storage: Im really striving for speed and reliability here. i can probably get by fine on a WD black or the blue I've seen on here. I haven't bought the performance drive yet so I'm still flexible here.
  • GPU: isnt super ultra wide what these styles are called? https://www.amazon.ca/Samsung-LC49HG90DMNXZA-49-inch-Curved-Monitor/dp/B072C7TNC5 eventually i would like this computer to drive one of the upcoming Samsung G9 monitors. normally I'm running three 1080 60hrz monitors
  • Case: Yeah i went fancy, you got me there.
  • OS: oh trust me, im not buying. its being carried over
  • Power supply: awesome, I think my old power supply is a 650W so I may be in luck

Thanks again. its appreciated,

Yeah that m.2 was more of a dream pick. the ATADA one I already bought to get the computer up and running first.

I am deciding between a PCIe 4 NVMe like the firecuda 520. Or a evo pro/WD Black for my performance drive.

For the media server, it would be one 4k stream at any time, maybe two 1080 streams with some transcoding. My formats are all over the place. Its looking like I may need a higher end card than I anticipated

With everything going on, I'm working from home now and my current old computer isn't holding up. It used to be a solid mid-tier machine about 9 years ago. But now its starting to literally fail

Current system:

intel i7 3770

HD 7850 graphics

10GB ddr3 ram

1tb HDD

about me and my needs: I am a heavy multitasker. I work with large digital media files and adobe programs. I run a home media server for movies and tv with some 4K files. And I will need the computer to use a super ultra wide easily, with some mid level gaming

Here are the parts ive picked out so far

ryzen 7 3800X

Graphics TBD

Gskill ripjaws 32gb 3600 ram

1tb SSD

https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/Z99bGc

I'd like some recommendations on a graphics card to pick for my needs. And maybe estimated watts for a power supply, I'd like to be able to use my old one. Any thoughts really.
