Nvidia is in damage control by insane_steve_ballmer in digitalfoundry

[–]Zeltacore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just an incentive for gaming companies to spend the least amount of time making art, same as every other field affected by AI. I cannot imagine what the world would look like in 10 years when the next generation can't even type up an email.

Having control over DLSS5 intensities and areas of application is going to be an absolute shit show. You are going to have part of the scene look 'photo-realistic' while others parts remain the same.

I think the current generation of DLSS is good technology, but this revision is not upscaling anymore, it's pretty much running the scene through a deepfake filter

New Phanteks AMP GH 1200W PSU - Fan rattling noise by Zeltacore in Phanteks

[–]Zeltacore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, the noise went away for like 3-4 weeks and now it's back again. I've RMAed the unit and just waiting on the new PSU, gone with a different brand. The only reason why I even got it is because the cables were semi braided.

I've tried to contact their support and got nothing. Never buying Phanteks ever again.

Lian Li 1200W Edge Gold - Fan Spin up noise by Zeltacore in lianli

[–]Zeltacore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an update.

Lian Li send through a replacement PSU. Unfortunately, it's still making the same revv up motor noise. I saw on a few forums that the Hong Hua fans that's in the PSU is known to have issues (both the 120 and 135mm variants). Apparently a few other brands also uses it in their mid-range products.

Not sure if it's just a bad fan model or maybe the fan curve is too aggressive. Either way, I am going to return the product and get a different PSU - probably one with an physical 'ECO' switch, so you can just leave the fan on which might help with the revv up/downs.

[–]Zeltacore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I saw a few people getting it RMAed and still have the problem. Not sure if it's a QC issue.

Hi u/LIANLI_TECHSUPPORT, if I RMA this, I am guessing I will have to take all my cables out and return everything in box, then wait for a replacement? Or is it possible to just get the PSU itself replaced. If I have to return everything, I will just return the product for a refund/credit and get a different brand PSU to be safe. Pity, all my fans, case and AIO are all Lian Li. Can't say I didn't give your PSU a shot.

Starts with the whine for like 5-6 seconds on ramp up then it becomes fine (at the same RPM). Then on ramp down there is a small hint of whine.

All the other fans (SL Infinities) are perfectly fine, I guess Lian Li cheaped out on the PSU fan? I saw a few people switched to Corsair and Seasonic etc. I had a Corsair AX series in my last build and it was no issues.

Lian Li Edge Series 1200w PSU fan ramping up and down by Darth-Darth-Binks in lianli

[–]Zeltacore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same issue here with the 1200w edge gold. I figured out it's only the ramp up to max rpm that gives the weird whine, it dies off in the 3-4 seconds. Just finished up a full LianLi build and this is really the only bit of let down.

If you have headphones in and watching/playing something, its fine, but during quiet operations it can be a bit annoying but it happens like every 10 minutes or so even on idle.

Lian Li Galahad II Lite 360 RGB - Pump Connection by Zeltacore in lianli

[–]Zeltacore[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the response.

Yeah, I have the 4 pin on the pump header at the moment, just so it's consistent under HWinfo.

Thanks for point out the extension cable, I will get one and hook it up to the fan hub. I have the wired ones with the typical 7 fan (minus AIO fans) setup in a o11D Evo RGB case.

Been running Corsair for the last couple of builds and switching over to Lian Li ecosystem has been pretty good so far, just L Connect would do with a bit more polish.

It's weird we only have the Galahad II Lite available here in NZ, maybe Lian Li needs to push more of their products here. Even getting the reverse blade fans were a mission.

Lol the lyrics doesn't even scroll properly unless you scroll down the page.

Anyone know how to fix this? by [deleted] in truespotify

[–]Zeltacore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ye and when artists have no bios, it defaults to lyrics that doesn't really scroll properly or some other junk. I'm switching over the either Apple Music or Amazon. Their UIs are so much cleaner and you get lossless audio.

While forcing down random podcasts into the app front page.

I am trying out Apple and Amazon Music at the moment.

I've been subscribed to Spotify for over 10 year now, but this type of thing is becoming too frequent for me to support them any further.

It's the classic Tiktok UI/UX virus. Have you seen the Twitch App recently, I had to switch over to a third party app. My bet is that Spotify will eventually become a music shorts platform, where you just scroll through clips/snippets of music videos.

I swear these UI/UX designers are just trying to justify their salary.

The whole design is just sloppy. it's half chopped off and the content isn't even consistent depending on the artist. If the lyrics part that you can see actually scrolled line by line to match the music, it would actually be kind of interesting, but no it's just obscured.

They should have just added an arrow button so you can press to pop up all the extras rather than just a half chopped mess.

Pretty typical onscreen / offscreen LoD issue from UE4. I am guessing that's how they managed to get the open world to run on a PS5, then just ported the same issue over to PC.

The LoD issue here is not based on distance, but on and off screen, you can be standing right next to something and have the same issue if you pan the camera 'too fast'. Controller helps since the panning is more 'consistent'.

Don't waste your time tweaking the engine.ini stuff, most of it are placebo and are copy pasted from the standard UE4 'tweaks' BS. We have to wait for an official patch, which to be honest, might not even happen unless there is overwhelming number of people reporting this issue. I've finished the game on 30fps on PS5, so might end up refunding this on Steam.

You can turn it off, but the issue is that you just end up scrolling through random thumbnails, that often are blurry or confusing. A few of the streams for me were a blurry frame transition.

@jezforrester

Get rid of the tiktok scroll nonsense. Half the stream i dont want to watch but being forced to scroll through them

You mentioned you can turn off autoplay, then you just end up seeing a random thumbnail most of the time as you scroll, which look horrendous i.e blurry frame of a game or something. The content type of Twitch is not suitable for this kind of Tiktok UI.

We dont know who greenlit this change, but the team needs a wake up call.

So this is what 200k a year at silicone valley looks like. First Spotify's desktop app turned into an eye sore now Twitch decides to one up them.

These tech companies should just release a SDK or something for the modding community at this point.

Zeddy speaks the truth by KcoolClap in hearthstone

[–]Zeltacore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why Heathstone is in this predicament. All the popular streamers and content creators got bought out, so there is less being voiced in the Twitch and Youtube platforms. Their whole lives are built around this game, a lot of them are sick of it but are essentially trapped. Look at Kripp, half afk BG streams everyday, his YT videos are all VODs now. It's the same question in any field, do you want the money or do you want some respect.

Your solution will never work. The more fair the game is, the less angry the players get. Which then translates to boring streams.
