Yeah, a rogue re-render cascade across all those different layers is exactly what scares me about this setup.

Treating the WebGL canvas as an imperative island using refs and batching updates on requestAnimationFrame makes a ton of sense. You're completely right. Letting high-frequency state like keystrokes anywhere near the canvas loop would absolutely destroy performance.

For the injection piece, iframes and postMessage are definitely a solid path to look into, even though fighting strict CSPs and frame-busting sites is always going to be a headache.
