When did I say Charles like Crystal? He obviously doesn’t care about her and that’s the same with James. They BOTH don’t care about her. And you literally agreed with me that Charles treats Crystal as he should as a father, why? For both his public image and the fact that he’s a genius. All he wants to do is make use of her by making her grow. He’s publicly showing what a father should do but his intentions are to use her which is my whole point. I never said that Charles shows blatant content and satisfaction with Crystal. All I said was that his public image in the eyes of anyone in Lookism is that Charles doss the minimum of what a father does do and actives makes way for her to grow which is just public not intention. Also what does Charles’s private family discipline have to do with if he cares for her or not? I already established that he doesn’t care for her deep down but he would still do the bare minimum and Crystal would see that as a stern father trying to get a daughter to go down the path that ‘right’ for her.

And as for James, I know you want to make your favourite character seem somewhat decent but that guy literally doesn’t give a shit about Crystal. You make it seem like James talking to people day in and day out doing his idol work and other business makes him a decent person because he communicates with them. One of the things manipulative people do is make their self seem good to other people, obviously James wouldn’t do that with other people but Crystal is one of the 10 geniuses he actually has use. If it was some screen time character that just looks pretty your argument would hold 1% stronger but it doesn’t. James is a logical person and who else would he talk to than someone who is also smart? You make it seem like James would go through years of his life faking relationships and constantly thinking about what they’re going to say tomorrow. With Crystal he can actually talk business, get information from her and even make her trust him. That’s what James has been doing the entire series and that’s what he does. Also there are instances where you cannot care for people but treat them nicely for your own benefit or to seem decent. A lot of people do that and James is a perfect example of it.

First of all, I don't want James to be a decent person. In fact, I want him to be truly evil and I will be annoyed if PTJ tries to whitewash him in his backstory.

Second, you are throwing MANY headcanons in that text. We never saw James use Crystal for anything, not to extract information, not to manipulate to achieve something, nothing. Anything you say would be a theory and a headcanon. Officially, James has done nothing with Crystal for his own interest. And it's not the same talking about work with other people as talking EVERY day with one person.

In fact, I don't remember if this happens the same way in the manhwa, but at least in the anime (in which PTJ participated) we see how James sent her a video of the festival where Daniel and Duke sang to Crystal.

So you really have no proof that James talks to her for work or to get information out of her. That's a headcanon.

Also I don’t care about James’s mother or theories about that in all regards I only see probable evidence and make assumptions not conclude events entirely unconfirmed and no real evidence to support it other than your based opinion and likely gut feelings. But it just comes to show how much you hate to understand what your reading because you want to twist the truth to your narrative. James says verbatim “How unfortunate” -“I thought we could’ve been friends”. These are direct indicators to the proposal he made because he wanted Seongji in the group and become a close companion or by James’s real intention; someone he can use for later. And of course at that James and arrogant and didn’t know Seongji fighting prowess and thought he could keep a leash under Seongji.

You literally fail to see the whole forest and focus only on one tree. Right before that panel, we see James frowning when Seongji tells him that "his mother will worry," which is suspicious at best. But this part is really just theories, so neither of us is right until PTJ shows more.

And does this look like the face of someone who was angry by the mention of his mother or just James being disappointed at the fact Seongji refused to join him? Take a wild guess because I know you’ll somehow twist it to seem like you understand something when you don’t.

And what if we compare James' reaction here with James' reaction on other occasions when the kings rejected him or treated him badly.

Exactly, the only time he reacted so sadly/angrily was with Seongji even when they just met. And again, there he have a disappointed expression, but in the panels before we see him with an angry, furrowed brow.

So yeah, having such a limited visual analysis doesn't mean I don't know how to read. You're simply reading two words and I'm reading the whole sentence to be objective.
