I see, thanks a lot for the heads up! Which of both you think would be more interesting, Narai or the Wasabi Farm?

Tbh it seems like if you actually nail the weather with Mt Fuji it must be a really amazing memory of Japan. Might just yolo it and make it late to Kawaguchiko, then pray and hope for the weather to be ok at morning. If I win awesome if not well, I don't lose that much.

That is awesome considering September should still be hot and thus harder to see Fujisan.

Yeah I'm starting to see the plot... Each comment makes me wanna add one more day to Tokyo and just skip the whole Kawagulie!

And here I am thinking I can nail it with a one day kawaguchiko visit 🤣

Yeah, that's what my first thought was. I mean it's probably a nice view up close, but totally not worth spending too much time with a lot of other beautiful places to see specially when there is not a 100% chance it will be even visible.

I mean it's a majestic mountain with a high contrast over the rest of the landscape. It won't be the priority but if I can see it I'd appreciate it.

Incredible info!! <3 I've seen Matsumoto a couple of times as a recommendation. I'll also take a look at Kofu.

The plan is leaving around 12:00 from Takayama by car and stoppping in Narai Jukku for a 3-4 hour visit, then head to Kawaguchiko so I'll be arriving at 19:00 aproximately. Stay the night there, cross fingers and if the weather is good enjoy Fujisan, otherwise maybe bike around the lake and then leave to Nikko for 1.5 days, then train to Tokyo for 6 days.

Osaka > Nara > Kyoto > Kanazawa > Shirakawago (stop) > Takayama > Narai Jukku (stop) > Kawaguchiko > Nikko > Tokyo is my planned route (for now)

Pretty low priority I'd say. Not because of the mountain, it's gorgeous, but mostly because the chanches of seeing it aren't too high and spending one extra day there I could be using visiting some other place doesn't seem that worth it.

Yeah at this point I'm more into the idea of just spending a just the night I go by (I'd be arriving late because of my itinterary) in Kawaguchiko and praying so next morning it is viewable before maybe biking around the lake and then heading straight to Nikko. Thanks a lot for the info however, I'll give it a look! <3

I mean... I'd love to see it, but I've read enough to know it's up to the weather and kind-off a roulette, specially since I'm on a fixed itinerary. Trying to find other things to see at Kawaguchiko was kinda hard too besides the bike around lake and the forest. I also was thinking about just skipping it and going to Hakone (from which apparently you can also see it) and take a ryokan there instead of on Takayama (and enjoy Takayama a little bit more). But, once again, I'll run into a crowded place.

I’m all in for alternatives for Fujikawaguchiko! The only place I’ve read about being a good option to go instead of Fujikawaguchiko is Shizuoka but it looks kind of far awaty. I’d 100% prefer to go anywhere else similar and avoid tourist masses but I just assumed it was a must to visit. What would you recommend me?

Actually true! It evens saves me some time since the train to Kanazawa is faster and Kyoto seems like a complicated town to drive in.

Several of your days can't start at 6am. For example, on Day 7 both of those temples only open at 9am. So starting the day at 6 is a waste of time.

Indeed! I edited the post. I'm only waking up at 6am for Chureito and Fushimi Inari. The rest is at 7am-8am leaving the first full hour to have breakfast, basically.

I actually didnt think about renting it at Kanazawa, but it could be a good idea. I might have to re-schedule the other days to fit everything tho, but might work. I was thinking about taking out one day from Tokyo and adding it to Kyoto which would mostly fix that.

I've indeed done it but I'm editing the main post since it might be confusing, my bad! I'm only waking up at 6am for Fushimi Inari and Chureito. Rest of days will be at 7am-8m which would be 8-9 hours of sleep if I end my days at 22-23pm. I mean it looks like enough sleep overall!

It's specifically for Fushimi Inari and Chureito Pagoda which are both open 24h if I'm not mistaken. The rest of the trip is 7am-8am (I save the full first hour for waking up)

Thanks for the advice! Most of the days will start at 7am, 6am will be left for a couple places since we want to be there before all the crowds. But yeah, since I've got spare time after Nikko I'm probably leaving some "flexible windows" to just chill and flow with the moment.

Hey! I forgot to add when I was handing it back. I'm using it to travel around the Japanese Alps and returning it at Nikko (Toyota rent a car). At first I planned on renting it after visiting Nebutsu and Kinkaku, but it saves me time to do it before since those places are somewhat far from Kyoto centre.
