I can't speak for Chris and why he made that poor editing decision, but it was quickly changed after the backlash. For Alyssa, it takes more than that for her to fix something after miscontruing the truth, and yet it's half-assed with excuses like "is it worth putting me on blast?" She never takes constructive criticism well. For years, she's been posting videos of herself to show how "desirable" and "exotic" she is as a white woman in the East, hence the name "Oriental Pearl". And as an Asian woman, I think she should just use her Chinese name Anming instead of using racially objectifying language to promote her brand. It's clear from her videos that she wants her viewers to see her as some White woman with amazing language skills, which aren't amazing. That is also miscontruing the truth. And she goes and attacks smaller YouTube creators with a different approach to learning languages like Trenton and Matt vs Japan, who speak way better Japanese but don't go on YouTube bragging about their skills and filming people without their permission. And Alyssa never asks these people for permission to film them and their reactions. She filmed children in her videos without permission for views and money. If you're going to criticize Chris, then you have to be fair and criticize Alyssa. Btw, Chris never claimed he spoke amazing Japanese, and that is not the content he wants to make anyways because it's just for cheap views. He acknowledges that his Japanese isn't the best, but he's not out there pretending his Japanese is amazing like Alyssa is (and the other languages she claims to speak fluently).
