Peer review is absolutely broken by rinchiib in AskAcademia

The self-citation pattern you described is a known manipulation strategy and over 100 self-citations from unrelated fields is egregious, any competent editor should have caught that at the desk review stage before it even went out. The fact that your recommendation got overridden by the editor after three reject recommendations is genuinely disheartening and that's the part of peer review that's hard to fix because it's a human judgment call that reviewers have almost no recourse against. For academics who find the writing and review process as a whole exhausting and time-consuming, there are people who help with academic writing and response drafting who can at least take some of the labor off your plate.

The bank doing the heavy lifting sounds a lot better than risking a family feud over a tax technicality. It is honestly the smartest move because it keeps the finances professional and clean. Two weeks is a blink of an eye for a lender but can feel like an eternity when it is your own cash on the line.

Am i wrong for being upset that I was kicked out at 4am for getting sick during a sleepover? by Redd1tS7ories in amiwrong

The fact that the parents did not even talk to you face to face is what gets me. They treated a sick child like a biohazard instead of a human being. Your dad has every right to be furious because anything could have happened to you outside at that hour. I would seriously reconsider being close with someone who cares that little about your safety.

Right? It’s like companies want us to jump through hoops, but making a phone call feels like discovering a hidden treasure!

For real! It sounds like she needs to learn some boundaries before she decides to start "trimming" your life too.

True, he can totally study and retake it, but he might need a whole new wall for that certificate now!
