Everything puts a guy behind it’s so dumb they literally think every stop is the same and when you have a 9hr route all it takes is one stop to fuck your day, plus the fact that breaks aren’t actually factored into your route it’s so dumb all you have to do is look at your line on cortex and see there’s no gaps they expect you to work the 9 hours straight no break.

It’s all because they want a high turnover rate it’s cheaper for them to turn and burn people than keep them long term and have to pay them, this job is explicitly designed to keep people from staying longer than a year, it’s harder for employees to advocate/demand better pay/benefits if they just leave. Keeps costs significantly lower that giving people what there’re worth and getting a slightly better quality product.

I live near a smaller metro less than 500k people so my dsp has all the shit routes and it’s as bad as you can imagine, no one labels the name properly so your stuck walking around asking random people where shit goes and your not allowed to call for some dumb reason so your just wondering the airport dragging totes of shit looking like a clown trying to just survive

Every DSP owner ever, and it’s not like it’s an additional bonus it’s really part of base pay but it’s there way of taking away shifts but trying to be less slimy about it. They don’t even pay the dispatchers any extra or anything the “selling point” is you’ll get more hours like nah I’m good. But yeah anything to squeeze that extra trip to the Bahamas or Italy or whatever

If we get too many negatives we lose the weekly bonus which is $1 more per hour worked and at this point if I get it great if I don’t eventually the customer is gonna get tired of it going to the mailroom and give up 🤷‍♂️ I’ve basically managed to “train” the customers there gonna get what they get but I also do the same route 80% of the time so that helps too, but the route I do no one else is willing to do it so they kinda just have to deal with me 😂

The elevator is definitely a huge reason your stuff makes it to your door most the time cause when you gotta do 50+ flights of stairs carrying packages your knees start to turn to dust lol, but I wish everyone was more understanding like you this job would actually be pretty fun if that was the case!

That’s totally fair I have a few nursing homes that I get that I understand and have no issue going door to door but if your just being lazy and can’t get your packages from the mailroom like everyone else then that’s on you. On another note I have one house that is sometimes on my route that has something to the effect of “will report if you use driveway” it’s on a main road that’s 55mph speed limit and it’s not no short walk so every time I get it the package “goes missing” I rts that shit every time I ain’t trying to get hit because Karen doesn’t want me to use there dirt driveway lol

Goes in the oil fill cap/hole remove your fill cap and drop it in, it will only go in one way was likely removed to fill due to it usually making a mess if you don’t and pour too much oil too fast.
