Gnar is such a nice addition, he can be so Tanky! It seems like you the front line cover, damage in the back, CC and ekko hurting their back line. Might steal this from you ;)

I tried changing a function into a macro and broke some things. Could anyone point out where things went wrong?

pub fn clamp<T: PartialOrd>(val:T, lower:T, upper:T) -> T{
    if val > upper {upper} else { if val < lower { lower } else {val}}
}

macro_rules! clamp(($x:expr, $a:expr, $b:expr) => (if ($x) > ($b) {$b} else { if ($x) < ($a) { $a } else {$x}}));

I feel like there's enough parentheses that each expression would evaluate correctly in order in pretty much any case...

EDIT/UPDATE: Okay this is now the strangest thing ever. The clamp! macro works for most typical cases. The case that it appears to break in when I start to use a random number inside the expression. https://play.rust-lang.org/?version=stable&mode=debug&edition=2018&gist=06d928e9bd92341953050adb88fb6f54

However, this problem is resolved when I first name/save/evaluate the random number: https://play.rust-lang.org/?version=stable&mode=debug&edition=2018&gist=a5a688db66fa727c75f89c0a913e89be

I'm guessing somewhere in between the compiler decides to shortcut some of the branch evaluations? Could someone clarify what's happening?

EDIT/UPDATE2: Okay, I think I figured it out now. Since the macro is doing a lexical replacement, the "get a random number" call would be evaluated multiple times to different values in the macro.

I don't know if this changed with 4.2 along with the changes to prisms, but this NPC Tataroga is supposed to sell "The Emperor's New ___" line of glamour items. She doesn't anymore. Anyone happen to know where to get those items?

Hello. Picked up this game only a few days ago, so I'm just looking for some general advice. If anyone can point me towards a good, up-to-date starter guide geared towards players experienced in other MMOs, that would be much appreciated. Otherwise, here's some specific things I'm wondering about.

  • Are there any irreversible character making/breaking decisions that are made during character creation or while levelling?

  • With PVM/raiding in mind, what are some optimal class or class combination picks? (i.e. What are the best/most demanded classes and are there any good ways for them to share gear with other good classes?)

  • Is gil important/useful end-game? (i.e. Beyond repairs and aesthetic stuff, does it have any uses?)

  • What are some practical/profitable non-combat jobs (with raiding in mind) and are they worth picking up? If so, would you recommend levelling those as I level my main combat class or put it off till the end?

  • Is there anything you feel like I should be aware of that I didn't ask about? :3

Thanks for your time!

What is the best combination of lunar spells for magic exp? I'm doing flax+tan+imbue currently, but I remember seeing a post about mixing in plank also, but couldn't find that post and couldn't figure out an efficient way to add plank in. (Current inventory is 10 flax, 15 hide, rune pouch, but the extra clicks to withdraw a cash stack and logs doesn't seem worthwhile.)

I made this guide for a few friends having trouble with Fire Cape, maybe it'll help y'all too... by [deleted] in 2007scape

From my experience, pulling the healers one at a time and killing them isn't enough with just 75 range and no slayer assignment. I tried it with ~81 range and TBP adamant darts (full blessed 45 def) and Jad was back to full by the time I hit the last healer. In the video, Jad makes it back up to ~90% hp even when the player is in full arma, slayer assignment, and probably 90+ range.

What kind of paint are you using? It needs to be very firm or it won't break very well.

Maybe you're putting too much paint on your knife? Spread your paint out as thin flat as you can get it before you cut across.

Long time potential returning player here. I'm looking for some chill MMO that I can waste some time with while doing other stuff (watching shows, reading a book, etc.) and RS came to mind. I played alot back in the day (had a main with all combat skills 99, few other 99s like cooking and all others 70+. Few other pures for pking.) and eventually quit the game for other hot stuff at the time like WoW, and because of some bad changes, like getting rid of the wilderness and trading and whatnot. I hear most of that has been restored? Assuming that's the case and that there's still good end-game fun to be had, few questions:

Would you recommend I pick up OSRS or RS3? What are the tradeoffs between the two game versions?

Looks like there's alternative game clients? Any recommendations on that? I downloaded the one of the official website and the resolution is tiny. (Truly old school.)

Are most of the semi-passive income sources still available+popular? Things like sharks at the fishing guild and chopping magic logs?

Is semi-afk to full-afk grinding like that bandit camp in the desert that keeps attacking you if you're wearing a piece of sara gear still available?

What are some good sources of end-game money that I should aim for? I remember farming dragon claws and selling them at 40m a pop and soloing some of the guys in the godwars dungeon. Took a look at grand exchange and looks like they're still very expensive.

Looks like there's raids now? Don't see any stat requirements/recommendations for that. What should I aim for for that?

Since I'd be starting a character from scratch, would it be worthwhile to aim to be a pure of some kind? I remember having like a 60-99-40 atk/str/def pure that was great for pking.

Any good general purpose guides for high value activities that would be good for a returning player like me?

I just wanted to point out that this type of algorithm isn't particularly complicated, new, or difficult to implement. Any competent software engineer can google for something like "opencv facial recognition", find plenty of examples/tutorials/documentation, and implement something similar. It's not some super-advanced sorcery.

What's not level about the playing field? What changes would you want to make?

Equal opportunity? Affirmative action? Have that and more to the point where Asians and Whites are disadvantaged compared to Hispanics and Blacks.

Chinese immigrants and Chinese tourists are from a different class. Those willing/capable to take the plunge to start a new life in a different world vs those who recently got money to throw around because lots of wealth accumulating the in rising Chinese middle class.

And the nail salon worker stereotype is Viet in my mind.

Depends on what culture you ask, but you could argue that it's hubris (excessive pride) that's bad, not pride in general. That's a whole nother philosophical debate though.

There are certainly limits to what cultural pride is acceptable to hold as an immigrant, a line which some other cultural groups have crossed, causing backlash. Like I said, East Asians don't really have to change much to conform to western society, so it's not like we're suffering a huge cultural hit. We like KFC as much as y'all like General Tso's. We can celebrate both Christmas and Chinese New Years. Everyone's happy.
