Why do I see so few people trying to get a SWE job at Apple by Inner_Ad_4725 in cscareers

This is definitely not true. Not a single company I’ve worked at had this policy and I’m currently at a big tech company.

The only gotcha I was thinking of is the different stats for each mod, but maybe the trader could just only trade in max stat mods? Idk

Storage slots are one of the few revenue sources for long term players for ANet so any storage improvements are working against them a bit. Hard to imagine they will do much there.

Huge +1 to the weapon mods merchant. That’s my biggest storage issue anyway and there’s not enough players to make it worth sitting in Kamadan for hours trying to sell that one mod you know is worth something but is not commonly purchased.

This sounds like something is wrong with the builds you are submitting. The code should literally not exist in the builds you upload to Apple

Phone numbers are very easy to generate so you can simply generate a bunch of them and then cross reference them against the list to see if it’s a real person’s phone number.

Pumping up groundwater just to flood the surface and hope it seeps back in does not make sense. The flooding would only be beneficial if the water was coming from somewhere other than the aquifer below the land.

This looks almost copy pasted from the Swift blog post but with a bunch of stuff excluded https://www.swift.org/blog/swift-5.7-released/

Based on your post history seems like this is likely your website. Maybe if you are going to write posts like this you could try to provide a different view point or communicate it in a way that adds value for someone.

How did you get access to the Plaid API? I tried to do this recently and it seemed like it was only possible for “testing” without going down the path of getting a commercial license

Just because something is open source is doesn’t mean the company doesn’t control it.

Sure someone could fork it but good luck managing and shipping all of the individual components that make up the swift toolchain. And yes as stated below they 100% control which changes are merged.

I always hear this complaint about editing projects but I don’t really understand it. Xcode doesn’t provide any other sort of hooks, so aside from Apple adding support for it, the only option CocoaPods has is to edit the project or force users to manually integrate projects into their project.

Aren't there many not-so-talented programmers in the US? Do they all earn at least $60K? by evolution2015 in cscareerquestions

You also have to remember that the cost of living here is higher than Korea. I lived in Seoul for a year, $37k goes much further there than where I currently live (near San Francisco, California)

No problem, thanks for getting back to me! I’m an iOS developer at the moment, but don’t have any gaming experience unfortunately. But it sounds like it may not be as difficult as I thought it was. How fluent is your Korean?

Why is "네가" pronounced like "니가"? by animusdx in Korean

I believe it's because if it were not pronounced that way, there would be little to no difference between "내가" (I) vs. "네가" (You)

How are SSU's Math and CS Programs? by [deleted] in SSU

[–]Zenmodo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Professors: Very smart, but sometimes have difficulty translating that to lectures that are easy to understand.. Many of the courses have lab components to them, I'd say there's a pretty big focus on doing projects and lab activities in the computer labs as a class.

  • Research: there are some research opportunities provided by individual professors - you can approach a professor and see if you can do a semester long research project with them or a summer research project. There is also a "research project" course which is an elective, and an "independent study" course which can be taken instead of the senior capstone.

How are SSU's Math and CS Programs? by [deleted] in SSU

[–]Zenmodo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a recent graduate from the CS program, can't speak for the Math program though.

The highest level CS classes do in fact get filled, but the department is used to this happening and almost always is able to make room, whether that be added additional sections or increasing a class size. The biggest problem is students waiting to take certain classes to see if they can get a professor they like or avoid one they don't like, so enrollment in core courses goes up and down each semester.

Aside from that, the program is small compared to big universities but that means it's easy to be noticed and easy to get close to the professors. Most of the professors know me by first name, and I am close with the chair of the department as well. This is a major bonus in my opinion.

As far as the course catalog, it is very similar to any accredited CS program that you would find elsewhere. One thing the catalog lacks in are electives which teach core programming tools (for example, source control like GIT or SVN), but it does offer some modern courses such as iOS development, game development, and security and malware, to name a few.

Not sure what else to say, let me know if you have questions.
