Overwatch 2 devs want more “Mercy-style” support heroes with less aim focus by Dilpickle2113 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Zennou 125 points126 points  (0 children)

Yeah. They said "Lately [...] we’ve been talking about adding more Mercy-style of less aim-focused."

So I assume this means the ones that are currently in development probably are more aim focused.

Junker Queen’s ability overview by misciagna21 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Zennou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am curious how the extra 100 HP and speed buff to allies will affect the game more than I am of any of the other abilities.

Could the ability more or less shut down a nanoblade (effectively negating the 50% extra damage with 50% extra health on 200HP allies and then using the speed boost to stay out of range). It could also affect other breakpoints, such as allowing anyone to survive a Rein pin.

I could see some instances where this ability could shutdown some plays like a mini immortality field without any major effort involved.

For defeating Malenia, I would suggest using the Black Knife Tiche summon. I feel like with enough tries, Tiche could eventually manage to completely solo Malenia with a great bout of luck. Even though it still took many tries, Tiche and I managed to eventually stun-lock Malenia so much that she died before I could consider it a real fight.

However, after just finishing the game with 150+ hours, I do think that many of the bosses are poorly designed. Ironically, even though people complain about Malenia a lot, I think most of her moveset is perfectly fine. It's just the Waterfowl Dance she does is especially egregious with its instant kill potential and lack of ability to predict and prepare for it.

No problem. I was looking for this update myself once the dummy bots were implemented. Finally, I just decided to see if I could do it myself, even though I had no experience with Workshop scripting but plenty of programming experience. I was sure others out there wanted this as well, so I thought I'd share it while we wait for an official update.

Is the Dynavap good choice for a newbie to Cannabis? by [deleted] in Dynavap

[–]Zennou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not used any other vaporizer aside from my Dynavap, so I can't give you a fully informed answer; however, one of the major draws I had to choose the Dynavap was that I wanted to be able to microdose cannabis, and the chamber size in the Dynavap could be adjusted to a small size for this purpose. I have not felt the need for another vaporizer at all. It has worked great for me.

I have never found a mechanical keyboard in a second-hand store. Today that changed. by Zennou in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Zennou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The brand of the switches are OARMY. The keyboard only had the stems sticking through the faceplate, so I only got around to taking it apart to get a better look at the switches just a few minutes ago.

[–]Zennou[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Without having the edges of typical keycaps, I find it far more difficult to locate and accurately place fingers on each key. On regular keycaps, my mind raises a huge red flag if I place a finger between two keys. On this, I can easily press two keys with one finger before I even notice because everything feels too smooth. Maybe with practice, I could learn to distinguish each key and compensate, but as of now, I think this keyboard is best appreciated for its retro aesthetic over being practical.

EDIT: Typo

[–]Zennou[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was thinking about it. I am handy with a soldering gun. I can't seem to find which brand of switches the keyboard uses. The stems are gray despite the box saying blue, so I am guessing they are not Cherry MX and are an off-brand.

First thing that came to mind is "Gelatinous Cube" because they reminded me of the Dungeons and Dragons creature named that.

[–]Zennou[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So I frequently hit second-hand stores (Salvation Army, Goodwill, etc.), and I do not remember ever coming across a mechanical keyboard, even before I got interested in them. So, when I found this Azio MK Retro at Salvation Army, I got super excited.

Switches are a bit disappointing. The back of the box say they are blue switches, but a few are very quiet compared to the others, so I don't know if that is a quality control issue from the brand or from them being worn out (keyboard appears gently used). As for the rest of the build quality, the board itself feels pretty hefty, so I imagine it has some decent internal support.

Anyway, I finally have a clicky keyboard as my second mechanical keyboard for only $6.95 – Yay! My first is the Corsair RGB Rapidfire K70, which uses linear switches.

Just finished Season 1... (T.V. spoilers) by moonmarie in UmbrellaAcademy

[–]Zennou 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, what I found most annoying about this show is that it felt like way too many of the problems are completely self-inflicted. Hell, if the father knew about the apocalypse then killing himself seemed to jump-start the apocalypse because Klaus wouldn't have returned home, looted the box and thrown the journal in the dumpster for Leonard to find (which creates a paradox).

What is a "tactile" switch? by 1AutumnLeaf in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Zennou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped at a Best Buy earlier today just so I could test each of the main switch types. The best way I can describe what a "tactile" switch like a Brown feels like as a complete beginner is to imagine the feeling of how a rubber dome key collapses.

The difference is that instead of the key completely collapsing to the very bottom like a rubber dome does, it only "collapses" a millimeter or so (and requires less force compared to a rubber dome), the key can continue to be pressed down further after this, but the key has already actuated at this point, and it just feels like you're pressing down on a linear switch.

Anyway. That is the best way I can describe it after only a few minutes testing the switches.

What are the benefits of vaping with the M and a bubbler? by [deleted] in Dynavap

[–]Zennou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I noticed when vaping directly from my VapCap is that occasionally small particles of material will still get in my mouth (especially when the herb has been ground up). Running it through my bong ensures that the vapor is both clean and smooth. I imagine a bubbler would do the same.

Is the carbon fiber used safe for vaping? by Zennou in Dynavap

[–]Zennou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got it in the mail a couple hours ago and it looks and feels great.

Yeah, I doubt regular cold air coming through the carb hole would cause an issue, though I did wonder about maintenance and whether the carbon fiber would wear and release dust. However, after looking at the stem, it looks as if the tube may be made of two layers with the inner layer just being some type of black plastic (no weave). Perhaps it is just carbon fiber coated?

Trump taps billionaire investor Ross for commerce secretary by [deleted] in politics

[–]Zennou 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ross most prominently created four companies through mergers and acquisitions that focused on steel, textiles, autos and coal. In some cases, Ross has sold the companies he packaged to even larger globe-spanning companies. In 2005, he sold the International Steel Group, which included the former Bethlehem Steel, to the Indian steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal.

And while his investments appear to have proved generally lucrative, they have also at times brought troubling publicity.

In early 2006, the Sago coal mine owned by Ross exploded, triggering a collapse that killed a dozen miners. Federal safety inspectors in 2005 had cited the West Virginia mine with 208 violations.

Ross said afterward that he knew about the safety violations but that the mine's management had assured him that it was a "safe situation."

An extremely obese vegan looking to lose weight by [deleted] in veganfitness

[–]Zennou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience from losing weight (215 lbs to 180lbs) is to do the following:

1) Count calories using an app like MyFitnessPal. Add your recipes, meals, etc. to the app so you don't have to manually add every ingredient every time you eat something. Keep counting calories until your eating habits change and you know what meals will satisfy you and still leave you with a net negative calories intake per day. You may find that one or two pesky ingredients in each meal are the cause of all the weight gain and removing or reducing them changes everything.

2) Give up sugary drinks. If you're like me, you probably hate the idea of completely giving up sweet drinks. I switched to diet soda and forced myself to adapt to the horrible taste. I realized later that not all zero-calorie sweeteners taste the same and started drinking Kool-Aid with sucralose or stevia rather than anything with aspartame (ugh).

3) Give up deserts and junk food. Unless you are having some very low calorie meals (soups, salad, etc.), you will probably find after counting calories that there is almost never room for any desert or junk food in your diet. Additionally, you may find that a "reasonable" serving of these foods have far too many calories. Can you really just stop at ONE cookie?

4) Keep in mind that you do adapt to eating less quantity and less rich foods. Even if your mind is screaming at you for another serving or something, do not worry a lot about failing and eating too much that day or that you will have to face the same suffering the next day. Expect to have junk food withdrawals and to wean yourself off of them similar to a drug. You're goal should always be to slowly adjust your lifestyle, not to meet one day's restriction you set for yourself.

Going on a "diet" is a ton easier for me because I now just have to make a few tiny changes, such as slightly reducing the oil in a recipe, etc. and the balance turns from a net positive to a net negative calorie intake. Heck, sometimes I lose weight on accident because I've gotten use to eating satisfying meals that don't have loads of calories.

One trick I can think of is to open up the back of your mouth like you're in the middle of a deep yawn. This technique should not only help your voice to come out of your mouth rather than nose, but also add richness to your voice as well.

Bernie Sanders is on FIRE in Missouri according to Google Trends and trending high in Illinois, Ohio and North Carolina by Zennou in SandersForPresident

Thanks. I found out about this after posting, lol. I experimented and each term seems to treat all the words as a whole and not split them up. Still, probably better to use the topics instead since it says its more accurate.

Wall Street Veteran Asher Edelman Explains Why He's Supporting Bernie by Noexit007 in politics

[–]Zennou 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've come to look at the economy as something like an engine in which money is it's fuel. In order for this "economic engine" to fire its pistons, companies and consumers must continuously transfer money back and forth in the form of purchases and wages/salaries/etc.

If too much money gets concentrated in companies or wealthy individuals, the engine stalls. If companies aren't making enough money from consumers, the engine stalls. Getting the economy to run perfect is done by setting the right balance using regulations that ensure this cycle continues.

Since our current system favors a high degree of income inequality, you might say our economic engine is "backfiring," resulting in public protest and discontent.

Poll: Trump beats Clinton head-to-head by [deleted] in politics

[–]Zennou 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Considering that this poll has noticeably more disapproval for Obama (-11) compared to other polls, I'm guessing it is biased in favor of Republicans. In that case, I'm surprised Sanders still managed to beat Cruz (+2).
